Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. (Shigetaka Komori, President) renewed their sponsorship contract with FIFA and will extend their support of world football, including their 7th consecutive FIFA World CupTM involvement since Spain 1982.

With approximately 240 million registered players worldwide, football is the most popular sports in the world. During last year's 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan (tm), about 2.7 million spectators filled the stadiums and a total of roughly 30 billion fans watched the action on television. Spectators and TV viewers for 2006 are expected to exceed these figures.

It seems like only yesterday that people from all corners of the world went wild with excitement over the many dramatic moments that moved our hearts and gave us courage at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan (tm). As an Official Partner of the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm), Fujifilm will devote all efforts to fulfill the essential role of capturing precious moments, offering the latest in digital technology to contribute to the success of the tournament.

Other football events Fujifilm will be supporting through the sponsorship contract are the FIFA World Youth Championship (March 2003 in UAE; 2005 in Netherlands.), the FIFA Confederations Cup (June 2003 in France; 2005 in Germany), the FIFA U-17 Championship (August 2003 in Finland; 2005 in a host country t.b.a.), and the FIFA Women's World Cup (September 2003 in the People's Republic of China). Hopefully, Japan can live up to everyone's expectations and perform well in all of them, attracting further attention and interest toward these important events.

In addition to having the two advertising boards that will be recognized at each match, various promotional events will be carried out in connection to the FIFA World CupTM for Fujifilm's official products, including Fujicolor Film, Fujicolor QuickSnap, Digital Camera FinePix, the Printpix system, etc. in order to enhance the brand image of Fujifilm and to provide people with the opportunity to embrace the fun, wonder and gratification of photo-taking through football events.
