FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO: Shigetaka Komori; hereinafter, “FUJIFILM;”) has acquired equipment and consumables sales and technical support divisions of the graphic arts systems distributor, Graphic Systems Australasia Pty. Ltd. (hereinafter, “GSA”), through its Oceania sales subsidiaries, FUJIFILM Australia Pty. Ltd., (hereinafter, “FFAU”) and FUJIFILM NZ Ltd. (hereinafter, “FFNZ”). Using this new resource, FFAU and FFNZ launched a new direct sales system on October 1, 2006.

GSA, a part of the German MAN Ferrostaal group, has established a strong position as the leading distributor of equipment, consumables, and technical services to the graphic arts industry in Australia and New Zealand. It has achieved a significant increase in FUJIFILM product sales, mostly CTP setters(devices) and materials *1, and has been growing rapidly.

The establishment of a direct sales system managed by sales subsidiaries was made possible by this acquisition. With this system, FUJIFILM will be able to develop its global strategy faster and more coherently in the graphic arts business in Oceania. By implementing marketing and sales activities that are market-focused and responsive to diverse needs, FUJIFILM aims to further strengthen its graphic arts business in Oceania.

FUJIFILM has long been a leading company in print and press materials. It continues its worldwide development, manufacture, and sales of a broad spectrum of products from lith film for offset printing, PS plates, and CTP plates for offset printing to software, film, and plate setters for the prepress sector. The demand for CTP is growing especially rapidly, and FUJIFILM is strengthening its production and sales systems in an effort to increase its global share to 40%. In the coming years, the graphic arts business, positioned as one of the core business activities of FUJIFILM, will be further expanded and the company is targeting consolidated sales to increase to approximately 300 billion yen in FY2008.
