FUJIFILM Corporation announces price increase of medical film.

May 13, 2011

FUJIFILM Corporation has announced that it will implement a worldwide price increase for its medical film, to take effect immediately. The price increase will be up to 50 percent, depending on markets and regions.

Fujifilm has been undertaking intensive reforms to reduce fixed costs and improve productivity over the past few years, in an effort to absorb the increased prices of raw materials for medical film. However, the demand for medical film is continuously decreasing and the prices of raw materials, mainly silver, are soaring at an unusually fast pace. Under such circumstances, Fujifilm is no longer able to absorb this growing expense making it necessary to increase its prices for medical film.

The details of price increases will be communicated in each country. Customers will be contacted by their local Fujifilm sales representatives.
