Fujifilm establishes a subsidiary in Ukraine

Aiming at the expansion of the digital camera business

September 27, 2011

FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO: Shigetaka Komori) has established FUJIFILM UKRAINE LLC, a local subsidiary in Ukraine, in a drive to accelerate the expansion of the digital camera business in the fast-growing economy of Ukraine, which has one of the largest populations in Eastern Europe. The company will commence its business operations on October 1.

As one of the largest countries in Eastern Europe with a population of approximately 46 million, Ukraine is expected to undergo further economic growth. In 2010, Fujifilm established an office in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, to expand the digital camera business, working to spread the FUJIFILM brand and promote product marketing activities. As the digital camera market is rapidly growing with future expectations for a growth rate of 20% per annum, Fujifilm has decided to set up a local subsidiary.

The new company will facilitate direct and swift development of digital camera sales strategies. This will be accomplished by utilizing a system that addresses customer needs by strengthening the marketing functions in the digital camera market, and by substantially reducing delivery lead time of products.

By establishing FUJIFILM UKRAINE LLC, Fujifilm will promote the growth of the digital camera business in the global market, and contribute to the development of respective industries in the region.
