Fujifilm FinePix JZ250 and FinePix JZ100: compact zoom with stabilization technology in slim body

January 5, 2012

Fujifilm is delighted to introduce two new members to its JZ long-zoom compact family: the FinePix JZ250 and FinePix JZ100. Both models offer Fujifilm's superb imaging quality to users looking for a great everyday camera with the ability to capture a wide range of subjects.

Model name Sensor Zoom LCD
FinePix JZ250 16 mega-pixel CCD 8x 3.0 inch, 230K dots
FinePix JZ100 14 mega-pixel CCD 8x 2.7 inch, 230K dots

Up close and personal

Sitting at the heart of both these cameras is a powerful 8x Fujinon lens offering a 25 - 250 mm equivalent to a 35 mm camera. The wide-ranging lens enables users to capture everything from beautiful wide-angle shots to stunning images of distant objects. At the other end of the scale, both cameras offer a close-focusing distance of 5 cm, which enables users to shoot beautiful macro images that fill the frame with detail and vibrant colors.
The sensors inside these compact cameras have been designed to work perfectly with the Fujinon optics. The FinePix JZ250 offers a 16 mega-pixel CCD sensor, and the entry-level FinePix JZ100 has 14 mega-pixels of imaging power — both perfectly capable of producing premium quality images and movie. Even reviewing stills and movie in-camera is enjoyable, thanks to the LCD screens offered by both cameras that have been redesigned for increased brightness over previous models in the JZ series.

A helping hand

The FinePix JZ250 and FinePix JZ100 are ideal cameras for families looking for all-round compacts, and the imaging technology employed by both models will help users of all abilities capture pictures to be proud of.
The Scene Recognition (SR) Auto mode automatically assesses the scene and selects the optimal settings to capture the scene in perfect detail. Scenes that can be automatically recognized by both cameras are Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait — covering a huge range of possible shooting scenarios.
When shooting in low-light situations, both cameras keep on capturing top-quality shots thanks to the inbuilt high ISO sensitivity (up to ISO 3200*1) and Optical Image Stabilization.
For portraits, Fujifilm's Face Detection can capture up to nine faces in a single scene, making these compacts ideal for large groups or families — and as both cameras have been optimized to offer improved start-up times and users will never miss capturing images of their unforgettable moments.
