High quality printing, compact design allows photo retailers to establish printing systems corresponding to printing services and installation space.
FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) announced the newly development of “Smartlab” Frontier-S, a compact and high quality, new concept Inkjet printer, which enables photo retailers to have a system corresponding to retailers' printing services, installation space and budget. Photo retailers can establish various print systems such as “Minilab system” with which shop clerk makes photo prints behind the shop counter, and “Self print system” with which consumer make photo prints by themselves.
Fujifilm has been promoting “Retail Print”, at Fujifilm associated retail shops for digital images. This service is realized by digital minilab “Frontier” and Fujifilm added inkjet digital minilab to the lineup in 2008 in addition to silver halide digital minilab.
The name of “Frontier-S” is a combination of “Frontier” which expresses high quality print of Fujifilm, and the new product concept “S” which stands for “Small” installation space, “Scalable” meaning flexible configuration of multiple printers, and “Smart” business.
“Smartlab” Frontier-S can offer minilab system, self print system and event photo system* with combination of maximum 4 printers depending on customers need.
Fujifilm will call compact high quality printer for flexible configuration as “Smartlab”** in Japan.
The “Smartlab” Frontier-S enables high quality print with the combination of exclusive inkjet paper, newly developed six ink system “ViViDiA D-Photo” which contains Fujifilm's unique ozone and light resistant dye and unique image processing technology “Image Intelligence™” in its compact body of only 0.2m2 foot print. It also realizes print speed of 360 prints per hour (4” × 6” print, standard mode). It also supports the two types of color reproduction, which are “Natural color reproduction” and “Vivid color reproduction” mode. Natural color reproduction mode supports the same color reproduction as silver halide prints***. Vivid color reproduction mode is suitable to emphasize color tones with higher saturation. Variable print size from 127 mm × 89 mm to maximum 210 mm × 1,000 mm and two types of paper surface of glossy and luster enable customers to offer various print services.
Fujifilm will exhibit minilab system, self kiosk print system and event photo system with configuration of multiple “Smartlab” Frontier-S as reference exhibit at “PHOTO NEXT 2013” which will be held at Tokyo Big Site Japan on June 25 and 26.
Fujifilm will continue to offer convenient and high value printing services optimized combination of various types of printers that meet the changing market needs thereby cultivate the culture of photography.
