FUJIFILM announces processless CTP technology

Dusseldorf, Germany, May 7, 2004
Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.

Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. introduces its unique technology which will contribute to make processless CTP system more practical.

FUJIFILM processless plate under development aims to achieve that it should not require post processing steps, should possess compatibility with existing CTP engines and should have the same on-press performance as existing plates.

Based upon the following technology which FUJIFILM has already now and with its further achievements in strengthening them, FUJIFILM will implement the processless plate.

The new FUJIFILM Photo Glossy Inkjet Paper takes full advantage of synthetic chemical and thin-coating technologies and utilizes FUJIFILM’s proprietary photographic technologies. Luminax technology creates an extremely minute, ultra-fine grained ink receptor layer which is applied as a uniform coating to a photographic paper base, giving the paper the ability to render images with significantly enhanced colour density, gloss and smoothness.
