Fuji Photo Film will be unveiling a completely new range of pre-press and pressroom products on the FUJIFILM Graphic Systems, FUJIFILM Sericol and Fuji Hunt stands at Ipex 2006, demonstrating world-leading solutions right across the print production spectrum. This is the result of a focussed strategy to grow its business by applying world-leading technologies to expanding market segments. From a position of strength in the pre-press environment, where FUJIFILM continues to enjoy growing market share through its high quality consumables and imaging equipment, FUJIFILM is developing its business in the areas of industrial inkjet (through the acquisition of FUJIFILM Sericol and FUJIFILM Avecia) and digital printing. The results of this strategic development will be seen on the FUJIFILM stands throughout Ipex 2006.

Better plates, better platesetters, better workflow

On the FUJIFILM Graphic Systems stand at Ipex (Stand B20, Hall 9), FUJIFILM will be demonstrating a completely new portfolio of plate, platesetter and workflow products. Whether it's B2, B1 or VLF, thermal or violet, processed or processless, Fuji has the widest choice of CTP systems available and will be demonstrating state-of-the-art solutions across its stand, all of which are designed to improve image quality and output productivity while minimising cost of ownership.

FUJIFILM will be using Ipex 2006 to demonstrate how its new range of High Definition plates can benefit print production. With all the High Definition plates running live at the show, FUJIFILM will be showing the ease with which higher quality plate production can be achieved, and demonstrating how simple it is to run the no- compromise Brillia HD PRO-T processless thermal plate on press. FUJIFILM will also be using Ipex 2006 as the launch platform for its new flagship fully automatic Luxel V-8 B1 platesetters, the Luxel V-8 HD and Luxel V-8 HS, designed to offer customers even higher quality and productivity. Both systems will be running live at the show, imaging the new Brillia HD LP-NV2 plate, and will enable printers to see firsthand just how these new High Definition systems can improve their production environments.

FUJIFILM Sericol expands digital offer

Designed to appeal to both screen and digital printers at Ipex, FUJIFILM Sericol (Stand C55, Hall 9) plans to show the world's latest advances in wide and super-wide digital printing, as well as ink and substrate handling.

Pride of place on the stand will be the Inca-manufactured Columbia Turbo UV inkjet press, the world's fastest, full-size flatbed which runs at 160m2 an hour, with a new Autospeed automatic unload system. The Spyder 320+, a 6-colour version of the compact footprint Spyder 320 machine, will also be demonstrated and is ideal for buyers specialising in lenticular, double-sided and POP display. Both Spyder and Columbia machines feature Sericol's award-winning UVijet UV curing ink.

For the wider market, Sericol has developed Color+, a solvent-based, piezo drop-on-demand ink formulated for wide and super-wide roll-fed inkjet printers.

Setting the standard in pressroom chemistry

On the Fuji Hunt stand at Ipex (Stand D50, Hall 5), FUJIFILM will be launching two new water based coatings designed to provide exceptional gloss levels similar to that achieved with UV varnishes. These two coatings are ideal for commercial and packaging printers who require high gloss levels similar to those achieved with UV, but with the benefits of a water-based coating. These benefits include FDA approval (allowing direct contact with food), lower environmental impact, a reduction in odour, lower energy requirements during curing and lower costs.
