Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. has announced that it will implement a worldwide price increase for its graphic pre-press consumables; Graphic Arts film, PS plate, CTP plate, proofing materials, and chemicals. Effective immediately, the price increase is substantial (in double digits), but will vary depending on the market and region. The Company cited continuing, rapid escalations in raw materials and energy costs as key reasons for the price increase.

The action is necessitated by the sustained increase in raw material costs, especially silver and aluminum, coupled with dramatically higher energy costs. We want to assure our customers that we are continuing the drive to sustain our leading position in the industry in terms of production development and customer service, and to maintain this position the price increase is necessary, said Kazuto Sameshima, General Manager of the Graphic Systems Business Division.
