FUJIFILM Corporation
We are pleased to announce that FUJIFILM Canada has been awarded a GOLD medal in this year’s Print Action Magazine Environmental Printing Awards held at the Palais Royale in downtown Toronto on Feb. 21.
The gold award was presented in the "Most Progressive Environmental Process" category for FUJIFILM’s Pro-T True Processless Plate technology.
The Pro-T plate was released in mid-2006 and has been installed in hundreds of sites throughout the world. Processless plate technology means that the digital plate is exposed on a computer-to-plate device but does not require any post exposure processing unit to develop the plate. In the traditional manner of plate exposure, a processing unit typically had developer and other chemicals required to complete the imaging of the plate. These chemicals would have to be treated before disposal into the local sewage system. Pro-T eliminates the need for any time of processing unit at the computer-to-plate device.
The total elimination of the processing unit made possible by the Pro-T technology has removed a major production step in the printing process. It has also removed chemicals from a process that have the potential to be environmentally harmful.
We are pleased that FUJIFILM has been recognized as a leader in environmental awareness.
