Dusseldorf, Germany, January 26, 2004
Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.

Building on the global success of the Luxel Violet series of B1 and B2 platesetters, Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. announces the launch of the latest addition to its B2 Violet photopolymer CTP offering. Because of its unprecedented flexibility this unit allows a growth path from basic entry level functionality to full feature automation. Using experience from the existing Luxel series, the new line-up combines the best of internal drum technology, with the FUJIFILM Violet laser pen design and internal punch precision to bring quality, repeatability and accuracy. All this with the reliability you have come to expect from FUJIFILM.

“Our latest B2 Violet photopolymer CTP devices have been developed to complement FUJIFILM’s Brillia LP-NV commercial Violet plate ensuring superb dot and image quality”, says Andy Cook, Managing Director of FUJIFILM Electronic Imaging Ltd.“Manufactured with flexibility and quality as its major benefits, our new B2 Violet photopolymer devices together with FUJIFILM LP-NV plates will form a powerful combination for printers looking for cost effective, high-quality plate output”.

The introduction of this new dedicated B2 Violet platesetter is in response to customers looking for greater efficiency, more affordable solutions and more flexibility within their businesses.

Key customer benefits offered by the range are

  • Internal punch
  • Small footprint
  • 120 plate capacity single cassette auto
  • Single plate feed option with automatic
  • 8 resolution options

Suitable for high quality commercial printers and trade shops, FUJIFILM's latest B2 Violet CTP devices offer a highly flexible format size from 279㎜ x 381㎜ up to 765㎜ x 686㎜, allowing automatic plate creation from some duplicator sizes right up to the largest of the B2 presses. In its manual and semi-automatic configurations, the unique space saving front loading system reduces footprint, eliminating the need for the typical front feed table.

The manual and semi-automatic versions allow operator friendly FV30 bright yellow safelight conditions. The automatic device holds one cassette of up to 120 plates, with full automatic interleaf paper removal. The system itself can recognise up to 5 different cassettes hence optimising the flexibility for operators to attend different presses and means that plate loading, imaging and output to the on-line processor can occur in normal daylight conditions.

The system can be configured with or without internal punching and is supported by a new entry level Celebra RIP. This RIP is specifically designed for FUJIFILM's latest B2 Violet CTP and ensures affordability and functionality within the workflow as well as the engine. Other workflow options including Luxel Gateway and Rampage will also be supported. The system can be operated via the RIP workstation or from a touch sensitive screen on the platesetter.

A new, dedicated processor will be supplied with the semi and automatic configurations of FUJIFILM’s latest B2 Violet CTP. This new design, with its small footprint and very compact design coupled with minimal operation cost and high quality processing, is the perfect violet engine and processor combination.

FUJIFILM’s new extended B2 Violet CTP range will be commercially available from drupa 2004 onwards.
