Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.
Building on the global success of the Luxel Violet series of B1 and B2 platesetters, Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. announces a number of enhancements to its B1 range. These improvements have been developed in conjunction with FUJIFILM’s distributors and customers and will increase the competitiveness of the range, both in terms of functionality and flexibility.
“The Luxel range of Violet platesetters are manufactured with quality, performance and flexibility as the major benefits. FUJIFILM also recognises that its customers want upgradability to increase both functionality and productivity, as demands on their business grow”, says Andy Cook, Managing Director of FUJIFILM Electronic Imaging Ltd. “The latest enhancements to our B1 range of Violet platesetters are another example of FUJIFILM’s continual improvement process which ensures that our customers have the choice and flexibility required to stay competitive in todays fast paced prepress environment”.
A new single cassette version of the Luxel V-9600 and Vx-9600 CTP will be offered, allowing a more affordable entry level of automation. With a cassette capacity of up to 120 plates and full interleaf paper removal, the option will be upgradeable in the field from the manual or semi automatic product. This lower cost automatic solution is very attractive for those customers that have the requirement for plate loading automation without the need for the full 5 cassette system offered today.
The new unit will operate with the full range of plate thicknesses and sizes currently supported by the B1 products and can be upgraded to the full 5 cassette automatic offering if needed. It will offer a smaller overall footprint to the existing automatic product, with tilting B1 cassette trolleys for ease of plate loading and stacking.
The single cassette option will be shown at drupa and released commercially in the 3rd quarter 2004.
FUJIFILM’s new FM screening solution will be offered with its range of Violet products. This solution will eliminate moir・ decrease ink consumption, raise saturation and high level performance multi-colour printing. FUJIFILM has long supported the use of a variety of screening methods to enhance and improve different print jobs.
This FM solution will complement the success of FUJIFILM’s Co-Res SCREENING that allows the user to increase productivity of high resolution jobs. The new FM screening will be available as an optional extra on all Luxel products from May 2004.
