Dusseldorf, Germany, May 7, 2004
Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd.

Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. announces a new digital halftone proofing system - FINALPROOF GxT for the commercial, publishing and packaging market.

The FINALPROOF GxT system offers a number of unique features which match the growing demand for expanded colour capability and versatility in proofing substrates based on the highly successful Luxel FINALPROOF 5600 proofer, PD System Pro colour management software and a wide variety of colour donors.

FUJIFILM introduced the FINALPROOF system at drupa 2000, and since then the system has become the trusted partner to many in the graphic arts industry. The FINALPROOF system employs its proven Thin Layer Thermal Transfer technology and same CMYK pigments as FUJIFILM’s Color-Art, in combination with its “Image Intelligence™” technology, to produce consistent calibrated proofs day after day, week after week, month after month.

The new FINALPROOF GxT system will benefit all Graphic Arts proofing industry applications and represents a quantum lead in colour output capability.

Features:

  • Contract quality true halftone dot digital proof
  • FUJIFILM’s exclusive Thin Layer Thermal Transfer technology
  • Maximum image area of 820㎜ x 548㎜ for B2 engine
  • Use of same CMYK pigments as FUJIFILM’s Color-Art for excellent proof-to-press matching
  • New White and Silver Metallic donor in addition to existing special colours such as Orange, Red, Blue and Green.
  • Precise colour matching thanks to FUJIFILM’s Image Intelligence™ technology
  • Spot colour simulation by using CMYK and spot colour donors with 6 colour donor library and 8 colour donor library
  • Off-line lamination to actual printing stock

The FINALPROOF GxT inherits all the excellent reproduction qualities of the current FINALPROOF but now extends its functionality to other applications with the same proven track record of the existing device. The new FINALPROOF GxT will now be capable of utilizing FUJIFILM’s fine lineup of screening solutions, which include FUJIFILM Fine Quality Screening (FFQS) as well as Co-Res SCREENING.
