FUJIFILM Corporation
Fuji Photo Film today announced the launch of a new range of High Definition plates with improved quality and wider imaging tolerances, specifically designed to make printing with the many new FM screening algorithms appearing on the market much easier.
Brillia High Definition CTP plates have been designed to maximise the superior imaging quality delivered by the latest generation of CTP workflows and systems. The wider use of many new screening algorithms puts increasing pressure on the tolerances associated with the print production process and often makes the benefits of FM screening (and other screening technologies) more difficult to achieve. Brillia High Definition plates are the result of over ten years’ research and development at FUJIFILM’s central R&D facility and global manufacturing plants, which has culminated in the development of a new High Definition emulsion technology. This new emulsion is designed specifically to allow wider imaging and processing latitudes, with the result that printers can achieve higher quality print production more easily.
Like the recently announced Brillia PRO no-compromise processless plates, the new High Definition range features both thermal and violet plates for sheet-fed and commercial web applications, continuing FUJIFILM’s philosophy of offering choice through the investment in both technologies.
Brillia HD LP-NV2 is a violet photopolymer CTP plate compatible with most violet laser (405nm) platesetters and approved for 1-99% at 200lpi conventional and 300lpi hybrid and FM screening. The high-speed plate has a sensitivity range of 0.05 - 0.10mJ ⁄ ㎠ and can be handled in a G10 bright yellow working environment. The plate is developed using FUJIFILM’s LP-DS and LP-DRC plate chemistry, is available in all major sizes and gauges and will be commercially available in Q2 2006.
Brillia HD LH-PJE is a thermal CTP plate compatible with most thermal (830nm) platesetters and approved for 1-99% at 200lpi conventional and 300lpi hybrid and FM screening. The high-speed plate has a sensitivity of 120mJ ⁄ ㎠, is processed using FUJIFILM’s new DT-2 & DT-2R plate chemistry and has improved plate handling due to FUJIFILM’s new double coating technology. Brillia HD LH-PJE is available in all major sizes and gauges and will be commercially available in March 2006.
