And, with its JDF foundation, XMF is able to link easily to MIS systems, reducing job preparation time as well as providing real time cost data. All the functions you would expect in a workflow are available in XMF - remote submission, pre-flighting, trapping, and of course color management, all alongside Fujifilm's advanced imposition functions.

Built to help you add value

Adding new services is key to retaining and gaining business. XMF enables you to create 3D digital mock-ups, complete with the ability to turn virtual pages in the viewer, showing the effects of different paper types, and allows you to send these standalone 3D virtual proofs to clients. The 3D mock-ups are created from PDF Print Engine rendered pages and the production imposition scheme and are therefore as close a representation of the printed product as you can get without actually putting ink on paper.

In workflow systems, RIP processing should be as fast as possible. In its constant pursuit of new technologies to achieve this end, XMF has been the first in the world to adopt Adobe's PDF Print Engine 3 Mercury RIP Architecture, which is attracting attention as the industry's fastest rendering technology.

Multiple output devices fully operated with a single XMF unit

With conventional processing methods, calculations directed at multiple output devices are time-consuming, requiring one RIP per output device. By contrast, XMF allows operating multiple output devices simultaneously (for example, it is capable of performing RIP calculations for 5 CTP setter*, as well as calculations for variable printing with Jet Press 720 and full-color, continuous form ink-jet presses). While decreasing the number of PCs, XMF also allows cutting down on labor and costs. Also, using only one RIP ensures that calculations stay consistent among different devices.
