How to use this updater

This document explains how to install the Update Module of FPD-8010E for Windows or Vista Operating Systems.

1. The Update Module is an executive file.

Double-click the following icon with the mouse to execute. (Go to 2)

The update data will be different depending on the version of FPD-8010E installed.

  • Ver.1.0: 2011-08-04-2100-fpd8010e-update-1to2017.exe
  • Ver.2.0: 2011-08-04-2100-fpd8010e-update-2to2017.exe

Ver.1.0 will be updated including the instruction manual. Both Ver.1.0 and Ver.2.0 will be updated to the latest version “Ver.2.0.1.7.” This document explains for Ver.1.0.

2. Click the “Yes” button to execute the program.

3. Click the “Yes” button to update the program.

4. The following dialog is shown during the update file decompressing.

The old file is deleted after decompressing the program.

5. The following update dialog is shown after the decompressing program completes.

Click the “Execute” button to update the program.

6. The following dialog is shown if previously installed files of FPD8010 are found.

Click the “Yes” button. (Go to 7)
(Go to 8 if files are not found.)

7. The following dialog is shown when the update finishes.

Click the “OK” button to complete the update. The old file will be deleted. (Go to 10)

8. The following dialog is shown if files are not found.

The following should be the main two reasons why the files are not found:

  1. FPD8010E software was not installed.
    Action: Install FPD8010E software. Then start and terminate FPD8010E. (Go to 1)
  2. FPD8010E software has not executed yet.
    Action 1: Start and terminate FPD8010E software. (Go to 1)
    Action 2: Select the installed FPD8010Win.exe and continue the following procedure.

Click the “OK” button to select the destination where the program file downloaded.
Select the executive file and click the “Open” button.
Go to 6 after finishing successfully.
Go to 9 if the selected file is not FPD8010Win.exe.

9. The following dialog is shown if the selected file is not FPD8010Win.exe.

10. Confirm if the update is completed correctly.

  1. Confirm the version information after starting the application.
    Version 2.0.1.7 is correct.
    Confirm the version information of 3D Analyzing software and Polar Coordinate software also.
  2. Try “File” and “New” in the menu bar and confirm the function of scanning new data.

The following dialog will show after setting the scanning condition if the update was not completed correctly or the SP curve file is broken.

Scanning is not possible and only the “Cancel” button is accepted.

Update again.
Re-install FPD-8010E is necessary if re-update cannot solve the problem.
