Prescale Sheet Type, which is pre-cut into an easy-to-use size.

Prescale Sheet Type is a new addition to Prescale series. It is easy to use and uniformly thin as standard Prescale, the pressure measurement film that enables checking of pressure and its distribution, difficult to determine by other means.
When pressure is applied, red patches of various densities will appear according to the pressure level.
Six types of films are offered to cover a wide range of pressure levels (0.2 to 300 MPa).
Five 270 mm x 200 mm sheets come in a box.

Line Up

Six products of Sheet Type are supplied according to pressure level. Select appropriate Prescale.
Medium Pressure (MW) and Extreme Low Pressure (4LW) are for Roll Type only.

  • *W in the product codes indicates two-sheet type, S indicates mono-sheet type.

Structure

There are two types of Prescale Sheet Type. Mono-sheet type is composed of a polyester base on which the color-developing material is coated, with the micro-encapsulated color-forming material layered on top. Two-sheet type is composed of two polyester bases. One is coated with a layer of micro-encapsulated color forming material and the other with a layer of the color-developing material. Use two films facing the coated sides each other.

How it works

When pressure is applied, the microcapsules are broken and the color-forming material reacts with the color-developing material. Red patches appear on the film.

Mono-sheet type (Medium:MS∼Super High:HHS)

How to use

Prescale Sheet Type is the only material in the world able to measure pressure!
Microcapsules are broken and react with a color developing agent when pressure is applied.

Note

  • *Extra care should be taken in handling the extreme low pressure films. Do not touch, rub or bend the color-forming sheet surface.
Two-sheet type (Extreme Low:4LW∼Medium:MW)

Remove the two Prescale films from the poly envelopes (A-film from the black envelope and C-film from the blue envelope) and cut into an appropriate size. Face the rough surfaces of each film together and insert the films in the desired location. Apply pressure. Red patches appear on the film and the color density changes according to pressure level. Take out the C-film, check the pressure distribution. For further precise pressure values, please use the pressure analyzing system.

Mono-sheet type (Medium:MS∼Super High:HHS)

Remove the Prescale film from the black poly envelope and cut into an appropriate size.
Insert the film where you want to measure pressure.
Apply pressure. Red patches appear on the film and the color density changes according to pressure level. Take out the film, check the pressure distribution.
For further precise pressure values, please use the pressure analyzing system.
