 A wobbled land and groove format allows Fujifilm DVD-RAM discs to achieve high recording density: the track pitch is just 0.615 µm* with minimal crosstalk. In addition, an edge-mark recording system defines the beginning and the end of recorded signals for a dramatic increase in bit density. Taken together, these two technologies provide extremely high density and improved capacity.

Compatibility with DVD-ROM Drives |

Fujifilm DVD-RAM discs are also compatible with DVD-RAM compatible DVD-ROM drives. Simply remove the disc from the cartridge* and insert into a DVD-ROM drive for read-only access.

Phase-Change Recording Layer Technology |

 The recording layer contains a material that changes phase from a crystalline state to an amorphous state under the influence of a high power write laser. Data is read back from a recorded disc by measuring differences in light reflected from a crystalline state and an amorphous state areas in the recording layer. When data is erased, the layer reverts to its crystalline state. |
