Insert a blank formatted xD-Picture card in the camera. Turn on your FinePix F10 while holding down the [DISP/BACK] button. The number will displayed "CURRENT" showing the camera’s current firmware version.
After checking the firmware version, press the [DISP/BACK] button and then turn the camera off.

Windows users should double-click "FinePixF10.EXE" to automatically decompress the file and create the "FPUPDATE.DAT" file in the same folder as "FinePixF10.EXE".
Macintosh users should decompress "FinePixF10.sit" using file decompression software (e.g. Aladdin Stuffit Expander).

If the file size does not match the figures given above, download the firmware upgrade file again.
Copy the downloaded "FPUPDATE.DAT" firmware file to the xD-Picture card prepared in step [1] above.
* The software provided on the CD-ROM bundled with the camera must be installed on the PC.
* Connect the camera to the PC.

Load the xD-Picture card containing the copied firmware upgrade into the camera.
(If you copied the firmware upgrade using the camera and the xD-Picture card is already in the camera, proceed to step [4-d].)
Turn the camera on while holding down the [DISP/BACK] button.

When the screen shown above appears, press the [OK] button.
Use [left button] to select "OK".
Press the [OK] button.
Press the [OK] button. The firmware is then upgraded.
Firmware upgrading takes about 2 minutes.
When the screen shown above appears, the firmware upgrade has been successfully completed.
Display the firmware version and confirm that "VER. 1.02" is displayed.
The xD-Picture card used for the firmware upgrade should be reformatted before you use it for taking pictures again.
