I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2020 after a series of wrong diagnoses. But I have transformed my personal journey into a powerful force for cancer awareness, advocacy and support.
I founded Nest Of Hope Advocacy and Support Community, an NGO. We works to reduce the stigma surrounding cancer, particularly in Nigeria, advocating for comprehensive care that integrates medical treatment with empathy, compassion and spiritual support.
Hope is about embracing and sharing the moments that truly matter — it’s not end of life, but a spectrum that gives life its meaning.
When patients experience isolation, their mental strength can diminish, making life even after treatment more challenging. It’s essential to have a supportive community or someone to talk to openly, without the fear of being judged, as this can significantly impact the healing process. I believe our purpose is to offer that support and understanding.
For cancer survivors, caregivers and families, we are more than individuals on a tough journey; we are a community that lifts one another up. Cancer can be lonely, but having someone who understands what you're going through can make all the difference.
Stronger Together means sharing our experiences, our struggles and our triumphs. It's about emotional support, practical help and knowing you belong to a caring community.
Cancer Turned My World Upside down... When I should benefit and enjoy a career that I've put in over 15 years, cancer came calling - stage 3 it was!. Active young man became fragile. Career turned bleak. Relationships lost. Life presented two choices - ignore and take a bow or treat and perhaps live. I choose the later. Today, I prioritize what matters.
