My name is Juliette Berguet, a Belgian of Congolese origin. 6 years ago my life was turned upside down following breast cancer. Today, I am reborn, I am living again, with my head full of projects with my association Baob Brussels. I live every moment filled with gratitude and grateful to still be here today.
BELGIUM
Hope is being here, even after cancer has turned our lives upside down, and feeling grateful to be part of a community surrounded by people who care and share our stories, creating unforgettable moments like the inauguration in Geneva.
What I want you to know is that your words carry power. Your story is worth being heard, told, and shared. You can make a difference for those who will walk through the same storms after you.
Whatever happens, you are not alone.
I found my strength the moment the word “cancer” entered our lives. That strength came from my family: my partner and my daughter. They were my source of hope, determination, and light. I was ready to do anything to stay with them, to watch our daughter grow, and to grow together stronger as a family. Together, we were stronger facing cancer.
Our love was stronger than cancer.
As a patient, cancer turned my world upside down. From one day to the next, I was lost in my body, my mind, and my soul. My entire life was shaken physically, psychologically, personally, and financially. The journey after everything was overturned has been long and lonely, in search for new Self & guides to rebuild all the broken parts of myself.
