FUJIFILM launches FDR NANO - mobile digital X-ray solution at JPR 2019

May 1, 2019

Synapse Portal, which provides access to imaging exams, will also be featured at the event alongside integrated solutions for image management and mammography. Artificial intelligence is also among the company's innovations

FUJIFILM, a world leader in the development of solutions for the imaging diagnostics,  participates in the 48th edition of the  JPR, Paulista Conference on Radiology, which takes place from May  2 to 5,  at Expo  Transamerica, in São Paulo/SP.

This year's highlight is  FDR NANO, a  mobile  digital  X-ray mobile solution. With unique technologies, the solution offers more agility and efficiency in both transport and handling. With   a  lightweight  structure (90kg, 80% reduction compared  to traditional ones),  four casters  that slide  in any direction and rotate  on their own axis,  ideal for beds and  point-of-care.

The equipment  has   Fujifilm's exclusive  Hydro AG  antibacterial coating,  used for enhanced protection against the  proliferation of  germs and bacteria,  and  is 100 times more effective than traditional coatings. The equipment also has a  smooth surface and no  apparent cables, facilitating  cleaning. The novelty has  lithium batteries, which can last up to 12 hours (20 shots/hour). Using the Cassette DR - FDR D-EVO II, with ISS  (Irradiation Side Sampling) technology, a method that offers high-sharp images with low radiation  doses, it is possible to achieve high-resolution images. It also provides a high contrast image in bed exams thanks to the exclusive intelligent processing software,  Virtual Grid,  which simulates the use of a diffuser grid, eliminating  the effect of secondary radiation. The Fujifilm noise reduction circuit improves sensitivity in  low-density regions, such as the heart and mediastinum.

According to  Eduardo  Tugas, director of the medical division of FUJIFILM, the  FDR NANO  solution should change the concept of mobile digital X-ray solutions on the market. "Clinics and hospitals have a new technology available, more agile and efficient, which will bring more comfort to patients and  more  ease for  operators, since the solution presents facilitating ergonomics, with high image quality," he says.

For X-ray   examinations, FUJIFILM presents the  FDR D-EVO II. The lightest on the market,  weighing 2.6 kg,  makes  it easy to handle  in  the workflow, in addition to maximizing the quality of radiological services  and reducing waiting lines  at  hospitals and clinics. It has a board equipped with internal memory for storing up to 100 images. Greater resistance, supporting up to 300 kg, it ensures peace of mind for the operator. With  Smart Switch technology, exposure detection is done automatically, eliminating any wired connection to the X-ray generator. It is waterproof and also has the exclusive  Hydro AG coating. A  broad portifolio  dedicated to women's health  will also be demonstrated during the event. Highlight for the solutions:  AMULET Innovality and  AMULET Bellus. “Always thinking about  the well-being of patients, our solutions  present  excellent image quality for a more accurate diagnosis and are designed with the comfort of women in mind and  also  the operator's tranquility. Over the years, the company has dedicated itself to the development of exclusive technologies that guarantee its equipment high quality, low radiation doses, productivity, stability and reliability, bringing more security to the investment,” compliments Tugas.

AMULET Innovality is a  state-of-the-art digital mammograph  for quick exams and low radiation doses ,  high  definition  images, breast tomosynthesis  and  50 micron  resolution.  Currently, the equipment  is the  only one on the market with a  smaller pixel size for direct conversion detectors  and a stereotaxis system,  which allows  an early diagnosis of  tumor cells, a  factor that can be  decisive in the treatment against  cancer.

The tomosynthetic function makes it possible to view internal breast structures and allows for guided biopsies. This feature makes it possible  for the radiologist to easily locate the region of interest in any slice of the breast tomosynthesis study, facilitating the location of lesions not seen in the  2D images. The procedure becomes more precise, since it eliminates the overlap of the mammary structures, simplifying the workflow.

The  AMULET  Bellus  is the  workstation  for intelligent  digital  mammography  and compatible with all CR and DR systems available on the market. The  solution allows  you to view 2D and 3D mammograph images, in addition  to  pre-loading the images that are stored in memory, optimizing the  time of analysis and  providing a fast and efficient  workflow . The equipment also allows the configuration of reading protocols and predefined filters to adjust the image quality.

During the event, FUJIFILM will also present the  Synapse line, which complements the  diagnostics  imaging  solutions. It is  a complete portfolio  of image management  software,  which help  the radiology department, the requesting physician and patients,  facilitating access to information and improving workflow, performance and productivity. The big novelty is the Synapse Web Portal, a platform that offers radiological exams online.
The visitor  will  also  be able to check  Synapse  3D, an advanced scanning system that provides the clinician with all the 3D applications he needs to achieve a faster and more accurate diagnosis. The  solution  allows stored images to be accessed through mobile devices and shared with professionals from other hospital units to  streamline  patient care. Another system to be demonstrated  is the  Synapse  VNA, which manages all patient information, DICOM and non-DICOM images in a single viewer, integrated with the specific systems of each department. By operating in a cloud environment, the  Synapse  VNA solution brings a significant reduction in hardware costs. The migration of information and the connection between the various departments streamlines and improves patient care. With this solution, doctors are able to access the results of all patient exams in a single viewer, being able to share results and medical records with professionals from other hospital units.

As a trend, FUJIFILM  presents   REiLI  technology - an  Artificial Intelligence  (AI) system at the event,  which  identifies abnormalities in the images,  giving technical advice, as a notification,  assisting  in the analysis  of the radiologist and, consequently, of the doctor. “ Fujifilm  has developed and improved state-of-the-art technology in image processing  over the past 70 years. To accelerate the development of AI, the company opened a new center of excellence for research, in which  REiLI was developed, which will drive the new diagnostic flows. This innovation will contribute greatly to  early diagnoses with anomalies, which can be treated more quickly, saving lives,” emphasizes  Tugas.
