Fujifilm Launches Palm-top Size Camera “instax Pal 2™”

TOKYO, September 15, 2026 – FUJIFILM Corporation announces the launch of “instax Pal 2^™” (Pal 2), a palm-top size camera that allows users to take photos anytime and anywhere, on October 9, 2026 in Japan.

Launched in October 2023, the instax Pal^™ is the first model in the instax^™ series specializing in taking pictures. Removal of the printing function enabled the instax Pal^™ to achieve a compact palm-top size. Through connectivity with smartphone printers and hybrid instant cameras, the instax Pal^™ introduced a new way to enjoy instax^™ photography, allowing users to create instax^™ prints from captured images. Since launch, the instax Pal^™ has gained popularity among users worldwide by allowing them to capture photos from creative and flexible angles.

The newly launched Pal 2 is the successor to the instax Pal^™. While retaining the compact palm-top design and ease of shooting of the instax Pal^™, the Pal 2 introduces an updated design and enhanced functionality. A top-mounted monitor enables users to check captured images immediately after shooting, while a newly equipped viewfinder, control dial and lever provide a richer photographic experience unique to a camera. With a premium semi-matte finish and refined styling, the Pal 2 is designed to complement a wide range of lifestyles and be carried as part of everyday fashion.

In addition, Pal 2 delivers improved image quality compared to the instax Pal^™, enabling richer reproduction of subjects and the atmosphere of each moment. Pal 2 offers a total of 30 effects that make it easy to create images with distinctive moods and styles, as well as the instax Animation^™ mode, which combines up to 10 consecutive shots into a flipbook-style animated video. With intuitive operation and diverse creative options, Pal 2 enables users to express their individuality with ease. While retaining the portability and spontaneity that made the instax Pal^™ so appealing, Pal 2 refines every aspect of the experience, from design and usability to creative expression, delivering an elevated photography experience.

• Pal 2 comes with a Hand Strap for easy carrying and a Camera Angle Adjustment Accessory.
• The Camera Angle Adjustment Accessory can be used as a camera stand and adjusted to different angles, making it ideal for hands-free photography such as group shots and other situations where the camera is placed on a surface.

• Pal 2 is a palm-top digital camera dedicated to taking pictures, with the printing function removed. Pal 2 makes photography simple and intuitive with easy operation centered around the shutter button. Captured images can be reviewed on the top-mounted monitor. In addition, a viewfinder, along with tactile dial and lever controls, delivers a photographic experience unique to a camera that smartphones cannot replicate.
• Pal 2 features a premium semi-matte finish and a knurled body surface that enhances grip, creating a refined camera-like appearance. The distinctive design makes Pal 2 easy to carry anywhere while also serving as a stylish fashion accessory.

• Pal 2 allows users to choose from four formats when shooting: mini, SQUARE and WIDE formats with instax^™ frames, as well as a “No Frame” format. Users can freely select the format that best suits the desired composition and angle of view, expanding creative possibilities when taking photos.
• When printing, users can select a format compatible with their smartphone printer from the instax^™ Link series or hybrid instant cameras from the instax^™ Evo and instax^™ LiPlay series to create instax^™ prints.

• Pal 2 offers a total of 30 effects across five themes, each designed to create a distinctive visual style. The themes include Modern, featuring natural color tones; Y2K, inspired by the look and texture of vintage digital cameras and motion picture film; Vintage, delivering a nostalgic and rich atmosphere; Chromatic, emphasizing vivid colors and light; and Fantasy, combining dreamlike textures with vibrant color expression. Each theme includes six effects, allowing users to change the colors and overall look of images.
• Users can select a preferred theme in the dedicated app^*1 and load the six effects included in that theme onto Pal 2. Users can also choose favorite effects from across all 30 options and load up to six effects onto the camera. Effects can be switched easily using the control dial on Pal 2.
• Just as if users was changing lenses or film stocks, Pal 2 allows users to alter the mood and style of photos according to the subject or the moment. Diverse effect options enable users to capture everyday scenes in a way that reflects their individuality and creative vision.

• Pushing the lever toward the monitor activates instax Animation^™ mode. In instax Animation^™ mode, users can capture up to 10 consecutive images by pressing and holding the shutter button. The captured images are automatically combined into a flipbook-style animated video, creating a charming, frame-by-frame representation of a subject’s movement.
• Videos created in instax Animation^™ mode can be converted into a QR code^*2 and printed together with photos as instax^™ prints. Scanning the QR code with a smartphone allows users to play back the instax Animation^™ video and revisit the captured moment.

After printing a instax^™ print with a QR code, it is necessary to upload the video data to the server via the “instax mini Evo^™” app. The download period for video data is two years from the time they are uploaded to the server via the dedicated smartphone app along with the captured images.

• After connecting Pal 2 to the dedicated app via Bluetooth^*3, users can transfer captured images to the app at high speed by connecting Pal 2 to a smartphone^*4 through the USB Type-C terminal. Images can be transferred in approximately 0.7 seconds per image at most^*5.
• Pal 2 also supports wireless image transfer via Bluetooth.
•  Images transferred to the dedicated app can be edited with adjustments such as brightness and contrast, saved to the smartphone camera roll, or shared easily on social media platforms.

• Pal 2 is equipped with a 1/3.06-inch image sensor and offers an increase in number of recorded pixels from 5 megapixels on the previous model to 10 megapixels. The enhanced image quality enables Pal 2 to capture everyday moments with greater detail and richness.
• The internal memory capacity has also been expanded, increasing the number of images that can be stored on the camera from 50 on the previous model to 100. When used with a microSD card (sold separately), Pal 2 can store images up to the full capacity of the card.
