On Wednesday, September 15, a group of Fujifilm volunteers rolled up their sleeves and cleaned up litter in the Reeshof, the residential area near the Fujifilm site. With this project, the company joins the international World Clean up day.
The group went through various streets in the Reeshof with vests, litter grabs and garbage bags. All the waste that was cleaned up was also recorded by the employees using a special app. This contributes to research into the origin of the waste, so that the waste problem can then be tackled more effectively.
Ton van Roessel (Staff Director, Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V.): "We have chosen this concept because sustainability is an important theme. And next to this, we think it is important to do something for our surroundings. Moreover, cleaning up litter also appeals to me personally. We should be careful of our nature and take action ourselves!"
For more than 15 years, Fujifilm employees have been given the opportunity to do volunteer work. Employees give half a day off for this, the other half being sponsored by Fujifilm. This employee volunteer work is given shape in cooperation with ContourdeTwern.
