History of FUJIFILM Electronic Materials
Year History
1983 “Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd.” established a joint venture with “Philip A. Hunt Chemical Corporation” (now “Arch Chemicals, Inc.”) called “Fujihunt Electronics Technology Co., Ltd.” (later renamed “FUJIFILM Arch” after the acquisition of the joint venture partner). The company began importing and selling photoresists.
1984 Established Shizuoka Plant. Started production of photoresists.
1996 Established “FUJIFILM OLIN Taiwan Co., Ltd.” (currently “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Taiwan Co., Ltd.”) as a local manufacturing company in Taiwan.
2000 Established a local subsidiary, “FUJIFILM OLIN Korea Co., Ltd.” (currently “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Korea Co., Ltd.”) in South Korea.
2004 Established a local subsidiary, “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.”, in Singapore.
FUJIFILM acquired all shares of “FUJIFILM Arch” from “Arch Chemicals, Inc.” as well as the Microelectronic Materials division of the company. The company name was changed to “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.” 
“FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A. Inc.” was established in the United States, and “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Europe) N.V.” was established in Belgium.
2005 Established “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.” as a manufacturing and sales base in China.
Acquired a 50% equity interest in “Planar Solutions, LLC.” a US-based company that develops and manufactures CMP slurry for semiconductors, from “Arch Chemical, Inc.”
2010 Acquired all shares of “Planar Solutions, LLC”, and integrated it into “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A. Inc.”
2012 Established manufacturing company “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Manufacturing Korea Co., Ltd.” in South Korea
2015 Acquired “Ultra Pure Solutions, Inc.”, a US manufacturer and distributor of high-purity solvents
2019 Acquired semiconductor process materials from “FUJIFILM Wako Pure Chemical Corporation” through a spin-off.
2022 The Korean subsidiary “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Manufacturing Korea Co., Ltd.” has been integrated into “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials Korea Co., Ltd.”
2023 FUJIFILM acquired semiconductor process chemicals business “CMC Materials KMG Corporation (FEPC)” from a U.S. semiconductor materials manufacturer “Entegris, Inc.”
2025 The U.S. subsidiary “Ultra Pure Solutions, Inc.” and the U.S. subsidiary of FEPC have been integrated into “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A. Inc.”
Integrated FEPC's Singapore subsidiary into “FUJIFILM Electronic Materials (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.”, a local subsidiary in Singapore.
History of FUJIFILM Electronic Materials. Established as a joint venture in 1983, the business has expanded through the acquisition of several companies and the conversion of the joint venture into a wholly owned subsidiary.
