TOKYO, October 5, 2026 — FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corporation announces that it has obtained “UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification”—an international third-party certification for chemical emissions administered by UL Solutions in the U.S.—for its A3 digital color multifunction printer, the “Apeos C7072 Series.” *1 This is the first time a multifunction printer has received this certification, which is granted to products that meet strict emission standards for chemicals released from the product *2. This certification demonstrates, through third-party verification, the company’s product performance in improving indoor air quality and serves as a key indicator for customers when selecting products.
In recent years, against the backdrop of growing interest in health management and well-being, there has been increasing focus on improving the quality of indoor environments where people spend long periods of time. Since image-forming devices such as laser printers and multifunction devices emit VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), ozone, UFPs (Ultrafine Particles) *3, and FPs (Fine Particles) *4—all of which can affect indoor air quality—standards regarding emission levels have been established for each product category through means such as environmental labels.
The company’s multifunction printers have consistently met the emission standards set by various environmental labels *5, and it has continued to develop products with indoor air quality in mind. In addition to these standards, the “Apeos C7072 Series” has now earned “UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification,” which establishes emission standards for over 360 types of VOCs and other chemical substances. This product features “ELFEAT” toner, which delivers industry-leading low-temperature fusing performance, and a fuser unit designed for low-temperature fusing, enabling printing at a temperature 21°C lower *6 compared to conventional models. By lowering the fusing temperature, the design suppresses the generation of chemical substances and reduces emissions of VOCs and UFPs. In addition, by incorporating technologies that suppress ozone generation and FP dispersion, the product achieved compliance with the applicable criteria for all UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification parameters, including VOCs, ozone, UFPs and FPs.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation is addressing “Ensure Product and Chemical Safety,” one of the priority environmental issues outlined in the Fujifilm Group’s CSR plan, “Sustainable Value Plan 2030,” and are working to reduce chemical risks in product design based on the Fujifilm Group’s Product Stewardship (Design for Environment) initiatives. Going forward, the company will continue to contribute to the creation of better office environments and sustainable society by providing products and services that take chemical risk reduction into account.
