Tokyo, October 8, 2026 – FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp. is strengthening its collaboration with Microsoft to help organizations unlock greater value from the documents and knowledge they have accumulated across their businesses. Through this collaboration, FUJIFILM Business Innovation will expand the integration between DocuWorks, its document-handling that has supported business operations through a unified environment for managing paper and electronic documents since its launch in 1998, and Microsoft 365 to promote greater use of the document assets customers have accumulated and to support the use of information in the age of generative AI.

DocuWorks Desk

DocuWorks Viewer
With DocuWorks, paper and electronic documents can be managed together on a single digital desk, where users can view, organize, annotate, and share them just as they would on a physical desk.
DocuWorks, provided by FUJIFILM Business Innovation, is document-handling software that centrally manages scanned paper documents and electronic documents in various formats, allowing users to view, edit, and share them on a PC through intuitive, paper-like operations. Cumulative sales have exceeded 10 million licenses in Japan and overseas, it is used across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, and financial services, and business operations as a platform for managing and utilizing diverse types of documents.
Organizations create and share vast amounts of information every day, yet differences in document formats and storage locations can make that information difficult to access and use effectively. This collaboration will expand the integration between DocuWorks and Microsoft 365, making it easier for companies to use the document assets they have accumulated within DocuWorks from within the Microsoft 365 environment they rely on for daily work. It will broaden the scope for applying those assets as information for AI.
-As the first step in this enhanced collaboration, FUJIFILM Business Innovation is developing a feature that allows users to preview DocuWorks files in Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, as well as the ability to use DocuWorks files with Microsoft Copilot. The company is working to make this available by the end of March 2027. The specific availability timeline and conditions will be determined based on the results of further development and validation.
This will not only make it easier for users to view DocuWorks documents through Microsoft 365, but also let them use DocuWorks content that has been created, shared and accumulated through everyday business activities with Microsoft Copilot. In addition, DocuWorks users will be able to work with their documents in the Microsoft 365 environment they already use, enabling more flexible work styles and improved operational efficiency, and expanding the role of document assets as information assets that can be used in daily work.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation is also exploring ways to evolve DocuWorks beyond a document-handling platform by using information held in Microsoft 365 to support document creation, updates and notifications and to help users work more efficiently in their day-to-day operations.
This integration is expected to expand the ways organizations can put their document assets to work and help them unlock and apply the knowledge and expertise they have accumulated across their operations.
Making more effective use of the vast document assets held by companies has become a central priority in advancing digital transformation (DX). FUJIFILM Business Innovation will continue to expand its collaboration and contribute to improving its customers’ productivity and strengthening their competitiveness by providing solutions that seamlessly integrate document management, information sharing, and the use of AI.
“Since its launch, DocuWorks has helped customers digitize, manage, and utilize documents throughout their business operations. The core philosophy of DocuWorks, helping organizations unlock the value of the document assets accumulated across their operations, has become even more relevant in the age of AI. This initiative also marks an important milestone for DocuWorks. By connecting DocuWorks with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Copilot, we are opening up new opportunities for customers to unlock the value of their accumulated document assets. By enabling these assets to be leveraged in the era of generative AI, we aim to help customers not only improve productivity, but also create new value and strengthen their competitiveness.”
“In the age of AI, a company’s ability to put its data and knowledge to work will increasingly be a competitive advantage. Our collaboration with FUJIFILM Business Innovation will make it easier for customers to use DocuWorks documents within Microsoft 365, helping them get more value from their information today while creating opportunities for deeper integration with Microsoft Copilot in the future.”
