TOKYO, August 19, 2026 — FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp. today announced that it has begun full-scale operation of the Circular Manufacturing Center, hereinafter “CMC,” a manufacturing site established in Laguna, Philippines in July 2025 to strengthen resource circulation initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. On July 30, 2026, the CMC shipped its first remanufactured machine, an ApeosPort-VII C R Series model.
At the CMC, used multifunction devices collected in the Asia-Pacific region are remanufactured into machines with quality equivalent to newly built machines by replacing worn or consumed parts according to each machine’s usage history.
In Asia, including the Philippines, policies and regulatory frameworks increasingly emphasize energy efficiency, resource conservation and sustainable procurement that takes environmental considerations into account. In this context, the value of remanufactured machines is gaining broad recognition as it offering quality equivalent to newly built machines. As a result, demand for remanufactured machines in Asian markets is rising.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation has now begun manufacturing and supplying remanufactured machines from its new site in the Philippines, which is located at the center of the Asia-Pacific region and offers geographical advantages for efficient logistics. Through this initiative, the company will support resource circulation and efforts to reduce lifecycle CO₂ emissions across the region, while strengthening human resource development in the Philippines CMC to establish a resource circulation system in the Asia-Pacific region.
The remanufactured machines produced at the CMC in the Philippines are provided as products with the usage history, such as the number of prints, reset and with a new manufacturing date, product name assigned.
In 1995, FUJIFILM Business Innovation established its company-wide recycling policy, “Promoting Resource Circulation Toward Zero Waste,” and built a resource-circulation system that considers the entire product lifecycle, from product planning, development and manufacturing through to disposal. Since then, the company has continuously worked to reduce the environmental impact of its business activities, recognizing the importance of environmental conservation. Building on the recycling technologies and resource circulation expertise cultivated in Japan, FUJIFILM Business Innovation has been expanding regional collection, remanufacturing and supply systems around the world. In 2008, the company established FUJIFILM Eco-Manufacturing (Suzhou) Corp. as a recycling system site for used products collected by the company in China. In 2024, it established a CMC in the Netherlands as a manufacturing site to promote resource circulation in Europe. With the full-scale operation of the CMC in the Philippines, FUJIFILM Business Innovation will further strengthen its global production system and accelerate initiatives to promote resource circulation and reduce both new resource input and CO₂ emissions.
In addition, FUJIFILM Business Innovation is promoting the reuse of used multifunction devices, toner cartridges, spare parts and other items, as well as the use of recycled materials such as recycled plastics and recycled steel, toward its target of reducing the depletable virgin resource input rate*1 for applicable products to 60% or less by fiscal year ending March 2031.
FUJIFILM Business Innovation will continue to expand and strengthen its resource circulation initiatives, including the broader adoption of reused parts, and contribute to a more circular society.
- *1 Applicable products include toner-based multifunction printers, printers, production printers, packaging materials, drums, toner cartridges, options, and related items. The ratio is calculated by using the total weight of these products as the denominator and the input weight of depletable virgin resource such as fossil fuels, gold, silver, copper, and iron — as the numerator.
