November 7, 2017

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our products.

If you run a clean installation, or reinstallation of the updated version of Windows® 10, Windows Server® 2016 released on Oct. 17, 2017, SMBv1 will be disabled by default. There is also a possibility that SMBv1 is disabled by default on newly purchased PCs. Meanwhile it will not affect the enable / disable configuration of SMBv1 by updating on a running computer; if it is enabled before the update, it will remain the same.

The impact on the updated version varies with Windows or edition. Please refer to the following URL.

As for impacts on our MFDs, MFPs, scanners, printers and wide-format MFDs, if SMBv1 is disabled, please refer to the following URL of Information from Fuji Xerox on its Products and the Ransomware WannaCry published on Jun. 14, 2017, as it should be handled the same as the measures described in "Countermeasure against WannaCry – disable SMBv1".
