apm, based in Auckland, New Zealand, is a property management company recognised as a leader in the industry. apm has over 30 plus years of experience, and their reputation is built on delivering exceptional services to landlords.
apm is an existing Process Automation client of ours and our account manager approached their Managing Director to see if we can offer any assistance in the meeting spaces.
Their office has several meeting rooms, and they currently use 65” passive screens with wired external cameras and microphones and run Windows via an external mini PC.
With several external devices connected to the screens, there are many cables lying around and can be a potential trip hazard.
There is a large air conditioning vent right above the screen, and any microphone mounted in the front of the room would pick up air vent sound over speaker. Hence the client installed external microphones that worked, but not ideal for group meetings.
Being a large space, the camera positioning is not ideal to capture the audience. All these challenges needed to be addressed.

The solution we proposed to apm is a Newline Q+ 75” Interactive Display with a Windows OPS on a mobile trolley. The reason we proposed this solution is because it is a large room and a larger 75” improves the audience’s viewing experience when having a meeting.
Newline Q+ offers a 4K camera, 8 mic array with 55W audio output all built in to the device, therefore it significantly reduces the number of cables in the set up. In fact, we only have one cable for the whole set up, which is the power cable for the Newline device itself.
All the tables in the meeting room are on wheels, and the format of the room changes depending on the type of meeting they are having. The mobile trolley offers flexibility for apm to move the screen around to work with the space.
This also avoids the need to have the screen mounted in the front of the room, where the air vent will interfere with the microphone.
The Newline Q+ addressed challenges that apm were having in their meeting room space and the client was happy with that.
What’s more, there are additional benefits that have also been added to apm’s meeting room that were not part of the discussion.
These include:
- An interactive whiteboard that allows teams to collaborate in their meetings and run brainstorming sessions akin to writing on traditional flipcharts.
- Being able to join Teams or Zoom meetings straight from the Newline interface without the need to bring their laptop or log in to Windows OPS.
- Easily being able to wirelessly cast to the screen and share content from their laptop via OPS.
