Addendum: Republic of Korea

This addendum (this “Addendum”) applies to the data subjects located or residing in the Republic of Korea (“Korea”). This Addendum should be read together with the Policy on Protection of Personal Information, and in case of any conflict, the terms of this Addendum will prevail as to personal information of Korean data subjects.
For Korean data subjects, the Personal Information Protection Act(the “PIPA”) of Korea and other laws and/or regulations regarding data privacy in Korea are applied.

1. Data Security

As described in Section 3. of the Policy on Protection of Personal Information (“3. Management” in our Policy on Protection of Personal Information), we take reasonable security and remediation measures as applicable to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, disclosure, and other risks. Specifically, we implement the measures including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managerial measures: Establishment and enforcement of a personal information internal management plan, operation of dedicated organization, provision of periodic education on protection of personal information for employees, etc.
  • Technical measures: Management of the right to access the personal information processing system, etc., installation of the access control system, encryption of unique identification information, etc., installation and renewal of security programs
  • Physical measures: Restrictions on the access to physical storage facilities storing personal information, including computer rooms and data rooms.
2. Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
2.1. Retention of Personal Information

We will retain personal information for as long as it is strictly necessary for the purposes set out in Section 2. of the Policy on Protection of Personal Information (“2. Purpose of Use). 

2.2. Destruction of Personal Information

The process and method for destroying personal information after the retention periods are as follows:

  • Process of destruction: We select the personal information to be destroyed and destroy it with the approval of our Personal Information Protection Manager.
  • Method of destruction: We destroy the personal information recorded and stored in the form of electronic files to ensure that the records cannot be reproduced, while the personal information recorded and stored in the form of paper documents shall be shredded or incinerated.
3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

The following are the details regarding the third parties to whom we lawfully provide personal information in Korea.

4. Cross-border Transfer of Personal Information

We transfer personal information to third parties located outside of Korea as specified below. If an individual does not want us to transfer his/her personal information overseas, the individual can refuse such transfer by requesting us to stop the cross-border transfer through the contact information below. However, if he/she refuses cross-border transfer of his/her personal information, we will be unable to provide him/her with a part or all of the Services.

Until the service is terminated or there is a request from the customer to stop using it.
  • Separate consent from the data subjects (PIPA Article 28-8(1)(i))
  • Outsourcing/Storage that is necessary for entering into or performing a contract with the data subject (PIPA Article 28-8(1)(iii)

5. Personal Information of Children under 14 Years Old

Personal information of children under the age of 14 must be provided with the consent of their parents or guardians.
With respect to the exercise of the rights under Section 6. of the Policy on Protection of Personal Information (“6. Notification of Purpose of Use; Disclosure, Correction, etc. and Suspension of Use, etc. of Personal Information”), the exercise of the rights with respect to children under the age of 14 must be done by their parents or guardians.

6. Revision of the Privacy Policy

We may revise the Policy on Protection of Personal Information / Website Privacy Policy (including this Addendum) if necessary as regularly review our personal information protection measures and seek to improve and enhance them as appropriate. If we revise these policies, we will promptly reflect them in this Addendum and provide notice. 
Policy on Protection of Personal Information, Website Privacy Policy and this Addendum are effective as of 2025. 5. 13. In Korea.
