Lubricant Reagent for Engine Oil,
“Soft Matter”

Lubricant consisting only of carbon,
hydrogen and oxygen atoms for achieving
low friction with reduced environmental impact

Unique disk-shaped molecules developed by Fujifilm’s liquid crystal technology are dispersed throughout the base oil. The molecules adsorb onto a sliding portion that is too narrow for a film to develop but allows formation of an aggregate instead. It is then transformed into a lubrication film at submicron thickness with extremely low friction coefficient (star liquid crystal compound) that can prevent pinpoint wear.
