FCT iStream Focus Edition   - Addressing Motion Blur

A 64ch , 128slice CT System that streamlines examination workflows.
With the evolution of our automated solutions developed using AI technology,
we have added a new feature that reduces motion blur caused by patient motion.

The content on this page is intended to healthcare professionals and equivalents.

Addresses Motion Blur
Body StillShot

Conventional chest CT scans*1 have faced challenges due to motion artifacts caused by heartbeat and patient motion , making diagnosis difficult in some cases.
Body StillShot*2 calculates the direction and amount of patient motion in four dimensions from the collected raw data, providing images with minimal blurring caused by motion . It can also be used in combination with Intelli IPV*3 , an image reconstruction technology developed using AI, contributing to further image quality improvement.

Here are comparative images of axial cross sections in the chest region, showing differences without and with Body StillShot, which suppresses motion blur. Body StillShot can be combined with Intelli IPV, and it is a dedicated option for the Operator Console CT-OC-23D. Intelli IPV was developed using AI-based machine learning, but its performance does not automatically improve after implementation. IPV stands for Iterative Progressive reconstruction with Visual modeling.

Here is a conceptual diagram explaining the principles of Body StillShot.
Cardio StillShot

Conventional cardiac CT scans*1 were affected by changes in heart rate during scanning, such as high heart rates and arrhythmias, which affected the image quality of the entire heart and make diagnosis difficult in some cases.
Cardio StillShot*4 calculates the direction and amount of patient motion in four dimensions from the collected raw data and provides images with minimal motion blur due to motion . By applying corrections during image reconstruction, it achieves an effective temporal resolution of up to 28 milliseconds*5.

Here are comparative images of axial cross sections in the cardiac region, showing differences between cases without and with Cardio StillShot, which suppresses motion blur. By applying corrections during image reconstruction, Cardio StillShot achieves an effective temporal resolution of up to 28 milliseconds in cases with 0.5 seconds per rotation and heart rates of 80 bpm or less. It is a dedicated option for the Operator Console CT-OC-23D and cannot be installed in CT-OC-23C.

Body Motion Correction

In head scanning, Body motion Correction corrects artifacts caused by patient movement.

Here are comparative images of the axial cross sections in head scans. They show the differences between cases without and with the Body Motion Correction, demonstrating that artifacts are suppressed.
