Fujifilm's collaboration with the PLANT-MY-TREE® initiative is enhanced

he Company continues on its path towards sustainability with an ESG-themed activity of planting 1000 trees in Ratingen on November 9th

RATINGEN – 22 November 2023 After the 1000 trees planted last year in Düsseldorf, an additional initiative involving Fujifilm Europe and Fujifilm Deutschland started this month (November 9th, 2023), in collaboration with the PLANT-MY-TREE® team. This year the Company again got involved in the vicinity of Ratingen by planting another 1000 trees. Fujifilm seized the tree planting initiative during the month of COP28 in the spirit of environmental protection.

The activity concerns the area "zum Schwarzebruch" in Ratingen, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). Here 1000 coniferous trees were planted, a clear commitment by the company to protecting nature and thus the planet. The reforestation project was one of several activities that the company undertook locally and in close contact with the area.

The collaboration with PLANT-MY-TREE® is part of the set of ESG-themed activities that Fujifilm is carrying on in Europe. Reducing its environmental impact and at the same time acting with initiatives aimed at restoring ecosystems and safeguarding the planet are the guidelines in which the Company's CSR commitment is based. These goals are confirmed by the Company's Sustainable Value Plan 2030 which aims to eliminate CO2 emissions by the FY2040, anticipating by 10 years the same European purpose set for 2050.

Precisely from this perspective, PLANT-MY-TREE®'s activity is important and fundamental to support. In fact, a mixed lush forest is the ideal habitat for many native animals and plant species, thus encouraging biodiversity. Trees also absorb carbon dioxide, fighting climate warming and providing clean oxygen. For these reasons, the Fujifilm and PLANT-MY-TREE® mixed forest will be regularly monitored to ensure healthy and robust tree growth and protect the area.

An initiative like the one with PLANT-MY-TREE® means for Fujifilm first of all to concretely measure its commitment to restore and protect the ecosystem. In fact, the ESG-oriented activity allows us to monitor the long-term effects,

explains Luana Porfido, European Head of Corporate Communication and ESG Management FUJIFILM Europe GmbH.

Planting trees is not only about creating a carbon reserve, but also about reducing the risk of flooding and erosion, improving the water cycle and air quality, and providing valuable resources to local communities, such as the one in Ratingen where we operate our European headquarters. We are happy to confirm this valuable cooperation.

In over 110 forests, for more than 20 years, PLANT-MY-TREE® is one of the active reforestation projects in Germany. Since 2002, it has been concretely committed to protecting nature and the climate and thus preserving life. Through the targeted purchase and reforestation of forest areas, the aim is to preserve meadows, woods, and peat bogs, expand them and ultimately transform them into safe natural areas.
