XMF Workflow

Built for speed and efficiency

XMF has tools to improve efficiencies throughout your business, handling complex PDFs with ease. Using Fujifilm's Pure PDF implementation of the latest Adobe PDF Print Engine, XMF ensures that supplied files can be processed extremely quickly. And, because XMF uses the latest Adobe technology, keeping up with applications is easy.

Built for automation and flexibility

Although easy to use, with a ‘one screen’ production window, XMF provides complete control and flexibility in production. And, with its JDF foundation, XMF is able to link easily to MIS systems, reducing job preparation time as well as providing real time cost data. All the functions you would expect in a workflow are available in XMF - remote submission, pre-flighting, trapping, and of course color management, all alongside Fujifilm's advanced imposition functions.

Built to help you add value

Adding new services is key to retaining and gaining business. XMF enables you to create 3D digital mock-ups, complete with the ability to turn virtual pages in the viewer, showing the effects of different paper types, and allows you to send these standalone 3D virtual proofs to clients. The 3D mock-ups are created from PDF Print Engine rendered pages and the production imposition scheme and are therefore as close a representation of the printed product as you can get without actually putting ink on paper.

New Technology

XMF has a world-class ultra high-speed workflow
The first in the world to support Adobe's Mercury RIP Architecture

In workflow systems, RIP processing should be as fast as possible. In its constant pursuit of new technologies to achieve this end, XMF has been the first in the world to adopt Adobe's PDF Print Engine 3 Mercury RIP Architecture, which is attracting attention as the industry's fastest rendering technology.

Multiple output devices fully operated with a single XMF unit

With conventional processing methods, calculations directed at multiple output devices are time-consuming, requiring one RIP per output device. By contrast, XMF allows operating multiple output devices simultaneously (for example, it is capable of performing RIP calculations for 5 CTP setter*, as well as calculations for variable printing with Jet Press 720 and full-color, continuous form ink-jet presses). While decreasing the number of PCs, XMF also allows cutting down on labor and costs. Also, using only one RIP ensures that calculations stay consistent among different devices.

XMF's non-stop workflow (optional) is safe and secure Failure-resistant virtualization technology

The most important characteristic of any workflow, no matter how fast or high-performing, is reliability— workflows vulnerable to troubles are meaningless, and high speed and functionality should be a given. XMF has created a strong, flexible workflow that is capable of continuing operation during failures.

Immediate back-up on an alternate PC in case of server failure

Conventional workflow systems suffer from concerns that production will stop as soon as one of the physical servers fails. Such risks are simply not there with XMF, which employs a cutting-edge virtual environment. If one of the PCs fails, operation will continue regardless by moving the OS onto another PC's virtual infrastructure. XMF's solid workflow will remain steady, and this will bring great security to workplaces, help boost productivity and profitability, and, most importantly, earn the clients' appreciation.
