Visitors of the Milipol security and defense show in Paris will experience the new mid- and long-range zoom camera systems in action for the first time at the FUJIFILM booth. The camera systems are suitable for a wide range of civil and military applications from 50m to up to 5km distances and more.
The Milipol show to be held in Paris from 18-21 November 2025 will witness the European premiere of FUJIFILM’s new surveillance camera FUJINON SX400. The new model of the popular SX series will be presented at FUJIFILM’s booth 4F051 in cooperation with Fujifilm’s Partner Hevi Optronics.
The new FUJINON SX400 is an extension of FUJIFILM’s acclaimed portfolio of long-range zoom camera systems with a more compact form factor and shorter zoom range than the SX800 and SX1600. It is particularly well suited for surveillance and observation on distances from 50m to 1km, for example infrastructure surveillance, stadium and event venue security, forest fire detection, drone detection and others. With just 300mm length and 3.9kg, its more compact and lightweight format makes it easier to mount on a vehicle, a ship, or a helicopter for mobile applications.
The FUJINON SX400 combines a 1/1.8” image sensor with a 32x optical zoom from 12.5mm wide angle to 400mm telephoto focal length. Equipped with the brightest F2.8 lens in the series, it delivers exceptional optical performance, capturing clear images even in low-light conditions.
Like all FUJINON SX models, the new SX400 camera benefits from FUJIFILM’s advanced image enhancement technologies for optimal clarity, even with maximal magnification.
Fujifilm’s proprietary stabilization system offers cooperative control of optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) to reduce blurring caused by vibrations or wind when shooting at long distances. It detects and compensates for even subtle movements with precision, enabling steady footage.
The FUJINON SX400 also features a rear-focus mechanism that drives lightweight lens groups for high-speed focusing. By combining on-sensor phase-detection autofocus (AF) for speed and contrast AF for accuracy, it achieves focus as quickly as 0.1 second, ensuring subjects are captured instantly and sharply.
Finally, the new SX Series model is equipped with advanced heat haze and fog reduction functionality. Fujifilm’s proprietary image processing technology reduces visual distortions caused by airborne particles, temperature differences, or haze, ensuring clear visibility. This system enables high-quality imaging even in foggy or hazy outdoor environments.
With the new SX400, the FUJINON SX series of surveillance cameras now includes three models that cover all distances from mid-range up to long-range and telephoto applications:
- the FUJINON SX400 with 32x zoom and up to 400mm focal length for recognition in distances up to 1km;
- the FUJINON SX800 with 40x zoom and up to 800mm focal length for recognition in distances up to 5km;
- the FUJINON SX1600 with 40x zoom and up to 1600mm focal length for recognition in distances of 5km and beyond.
The new entry-level model SX400 offers a practical alternative for shorter distances and mobile surveillance, without compromising on image enhancement technology.
