Fujifilm Launches Hybrid Instant Camera “instax WIDE Evo” High-end Model Designed to Make Every Shot a Masterpiece with its Extensive Range of Effects

Bangkok, 21 January 2025 — FUJIFILM (Thailand) Ltd. announces the launch of the high-end hybrid instant camera, “instax WIDE Evo” (WIDE Evo). The WIDE Evo, following the globally successful “instax mini Evo”, is compatible with double-card-sized WIDE format film. The WIDE Evo allows users to take pictures with viewing the LCD monitor on the back of the camera and select their favorite shots to print. Also, it can be used as a smartphone printer. It comes with ten lens effects including “Magenta” and “Monochrome” as well as ten film effects including “Light Leak” and “Color Gradient”. These two types of effects can be combined freely to create “100 Shooting Effects”. Furthermore, for the first time in the instax series, the lens effects feature a “degree control” function, allowing users to finely adjust the effects such as intensity of light and color gradation in 100 levels, enabling delicate and precise expressions as desired. In addition, the “Film Style”, which frames the photo for a more impressive instax print, and the “Wide Angle Mode,” which allows for a dynamic shot with a wider range, further enhance the appeal of WIDE format film. The combination of “100 Shooting Effects”, “Degree Control”, “Film Style”, and “Wide Angle Mode” results in 120,000 possible expressions, making every shot a masterpiece.

The camera body features a luxurious design that combines a black base with metallic materials. Users can experience the joy of creating WIDE format instax prints through analog-like operability, such as selecting effects using various dials and printing shots with manually rotating the “Print crank”.

Coinciding with the launch of the “WIDE Evo”, Fujifilm is releasing a color-matched camera case and WIDE format film “BRUSHED METALLICS” featuring the unique gradations and metallic-like texture.

(1) Classical design and operability in pursuit for analog usability

The new body design features a luxurious design combining a black base with metallic materials. It is designed in pursuit for analog-like operability, such as the film dial, lens dial, degree control dial, and print crank. Users can experience the joy of creating WIDE format instax prints through analog-like operability, such as selecting effects using various dials and printing shots with manually rotating the “Print crank”.

The “WIDE Evo” comes with the “100 Shooting Effects”, which has been particularly popular in the instax mini Evo, a global hit since its release in 2021. Some effects have been renewed from the “mini Evo”, allowing users to enjoy ten film effects including “Magenta” and “Monochrome” and ten lens effects including “Light Leak” and “Color Gradient”. In combination with the degree control of the lens effects, introduced for the first time in the instax series, “WIDE Evo” features most effects in the instax™ series. Through degree control dial operation, users can adjust the effects such as intensity of light and color gradation in 100 levels, enabling delicate and precise expressions as desired.

(3) Two new functions enhancing the appeal of WIDE format film: “Film Style” and “Wide Angle Mode”

• “Film Style”: Frame shots with one of the six available “Film Style” to make instax print more impressive.
• “Wide Angle Mode”: Capture a broader area for more dynamic expression that make full use of the WIDE format film.

(4) Dedicated app “instax WIDE Evo” expanding the enjoyment of “WIDE Evo” experience

• The dedicated app features a "Discover Feed" function, allowing WIDE Evo users worldwide to view instax print images posted on social media along with the various effects used. This feature offers new ideas for photographic expression.
• Using Bluetooth, users can favorite the effects of instax print images displayed on the "Discover Feed" and easily replicate the combinations on their WIDE Evo via the app.
• Images printed with “WIDE Evo” can be saved on a smartphone with the instax frame. The background color and image can be edited, and they can be easily shared on social media. 
• The “Direct Print” function allows users to print their favorite images taken with a smartphone using “WIDE Evo”.

The instax WIDE Evo will be available in Thailand from February 4, 2025 at 12,990 THB through FUJIFILM's official distribution channels and its official distributors.

On January 26, 2025, INSTAX, in collaboration with the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST), invites those who want to create masterpieces to join the WIDE Evo Photo Contest under the concept ‘make every shot a masterpiece’ at Friends of BACC, 6th floor, Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC). Participants will not only get hands-on experience with the instax WIDE Evo, but also have a chance to win prizes, as the three winners from the three contest rounds will each receive a WIDE Evo camera with WIDE films (total prize value over 14,000 THB).
