Chiang Rai, 27 November 2025 — FUJIFILM (Thailand) Ltd. supported a field mission for Overbrook Hospital's mobile medical unit, deploying the FDR nano and FDR Xair mobile digital X-ray systems with AI to Chiang Rai Province for the first time. This cross-border collaboration between Overbrook Hospital, Chiang Rai, and Changhua Christian Hospital from Taiwan aims to increase access to advanced X-ray technology that delivers rapid diagnostic capabilities to people in remote areas, while improving quality of life through equitable healthcare powered by medical innovation.
The mobile medical unit mission by Overbrook Hospital and Taiwan’s Changhua Christian Hospital targets free proactive health screening services for people living in remote communities with limited healthcare access. Overbrook Hospital, under the Foundation of the Church of Christ in Thailand, focuses on proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord through providing quality healthcare to all people regardless of nationality, religion, or economic status. The hospital launched the "Gospel Proclamation Through Healthcare for the Underprivileged" project, targeting approximately 2,000 underprivileged individuals with health concerns in remote areas. The project runs from 24–27 November 2025, with Fujifilm supporting digital X-ray equipment for field deployment on 24–25 November 2025 at Ban Phanasawan Health Promoting Hospital, Mae Yao Sub-district, and Ban Thung Phrao Health Promoting Hospital, Wawee Sub-district, Chiang Rai Province. The mobile medical mission also received collaboration and support from various government agencies and charitable organizations, including the Chiang Rai Provincial and District Public Health Offices, relevant sub-district health promoting hospitals, and various local churches
Dr. Nattachai Kruajak, Acting Director at Overbrook Hospital, said, "This mobile medical mission with Changhua Christian Hospital is part of Overbrook Hospital's strategy to serve society by providing medical services to communities in remote areas. We have been conducting mobile medical missions for over 10 years through collaboration with partner hospitals and relevant agencies. For this year's mission, we received X-ray system support from FUJIFILM (Thailand) Ltd., which has significantly enhanced our screening efficiency, particularly for early-stage asymptomatic diseases such as tuberculosis and lung cancer. Patients with abnormal results will receive timely treatment. Moving forward, we will carry out more missions like this to ensure people in remote areas have equal access to quality medical services."
The medical innovations Fujifilm provided to support this mobile medical mission include the FDR nano mobile digital X-ray system, weighing just 90 kilograms, easily transportable even in confined and urgent settings, along with the FDR Xair portable digital X-ray system, weighing only 3.5 kilograms, enabling easy deployment in field operations such as mobile medical missions in remote communities and bedside access for bedridden patients. These systems integrate powerful AI processing capabilities that enhance the efficiency of field physicians during deployments, addressing medical service needs in remote areas and helping reduce disparities in healthcare screening access.
Mr. So Maruo, Managing Director of FUJIFILM (Thailand) Ltd., said, "Fujifilm is committed to delivering healthcare innovations that reduce inequality in Thai society. Supporting this mobile medical unit project by Overbrook Hospital and Changhua Christian Hospital reflects our determination to expand access to medical technology across all remote areas in Thailand. Both the FDR nano and FDR Xair with AI systems enable medical teams to provide rapid and accurate screening services even in challenging locations—a key to increasing treatment opportunities and improving people's quality of life. We're ready to extend this type of support to other areas and build ongoing collaboration with Thailand's public health agencies to ensure citizens have equal opportunities for healthcare, consistent with Fujifilm's purpose of 'Giving our world more smiles.' "
Beyond supporting medical innovations, Fujifilm also provided a photo booth with instax cameras and film on-site, allowing the public to capture moments of joy through instant film. In line with its purpose of “Giving our world more smiles,” Fujifilm aims to bring smiles to more people.
