FUJIFILM RECEIVES VIZIENT INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY CONTRACT FOR ENDOSCOPIC IMAGING TECHNOLOGY
Company’s ELUXEO and EB-530US selected by largest member-driven healthcare GPO in the country
May 5, 2020
Lexington, Mass., May 5, 2020 – FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of endoscopic imaging solutions, and part of the greater Fujifilm Healthcare portfolio, has announced that its next-generation endoscopic video imaging system, ELUXEO®, and its ultrasound video bronchoscope, EB-530US have received an Innovative Technology contract from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven healthcare performance improvement company in the United States.
The contract was based on the recommendations of health care experts serving on a Vizient member-led council. The council recommends Innovative Technology contracts for technology that has the potential to enhance clinical care, patient safety, health care worker safety or improve business operations of health care organizations.
This new contract offers enhanced savings to Vizient’s diverse membership which includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute health care providers and represents approximately $100 billion in annual purchasing volume.
“Through its Innovative Technology program, Vizient recognizes breakthrough technology designed to raise the standard of patient care and safety,” says Taisuke Fujita, General Manager of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc.—Endoscopy. “Improving care and outcomes is the driver of all of Fujifilm’s innovations. It is with great confidence and gratitude that we will leverage this agreement to get our ELUXEO and EB-530US into the hands of more physicians, helping them provide the highest quality care to a bigger and broader patient population.”
ELUXEO’s 4 LED Multi-Light technology has been developed to achieve the optimal results in illumination, enabling special light observation modes BLI (Blue Light Imaging) and LCI® (Linked Color Imaging)1.
Through a combination of light spectrum enhancement and advanced signal processing, LCI differentiates the red color spectrum, enhancing mucosal visualization to help improve detection.2 BLI outputs a high intensity ratio of blue-violet light to enhance the subtle contrast of the irregularities of the mucosa. Light modes are easily toggled with the push of a button.
Fujifilm’s EB-530US Ultrasound Bronchoscope is equipped with high-resolution, ultra-small Super CCD chip technology, offering bright, vivid high-resolution endoscopic images designed specifically for ultrasonic diagnosis and staging.
Unique design features of the EB-53OUS System includes a 10° forward oblique view for optimal visualization of the vocal cords; dual light guides, with one on each side of the accessory channel for even illumination; and exceptional bending capability to facilitate precise targeting of accessories. With a distal end outer diameter of 6.7mm, the EB-530US is engineered to reduce patient discomfort, improve maneuverability, insertion capability and physician efficiency.
“Hospitals and providers are looking for innovations that offer unique benefit over other products available on the market today. Our member council determined these technologies met the criteria to be awarded with the Innovative Technology contract. Congratulations to Fujifilm on receiving this status,” said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and Vizient Innovative Technology Program leader.
