Fujifilm’s ultra-short throw projector and image-stabilized binoculars win Gold Award in the internationally-prestigious U.S. design award, IDEA

TOKYO, September 17, 2020 ― FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is proud to announce that its ultra-short throw projector “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z5000 (FP-Z5000)” and image-stabilized binoculars “FUJINON TECHNO-STABI TS-X 1440 (TS-X1440)” have won Gold Award, the highest honor of the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2020, organized by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
In addition to “IDEA Award”, Fujifilm has received the highest honor^*1 in world’s famous “iF Design Award^*2” and “Red Dot Design Award^*3.” With this latest accomplishment, Fujifilm has achieved the highest honor in all three prestigious design awards.

The IDEA is an internationally-prestigious design award program established in 1980 by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). After stringent examination based on criteria including design innovation, user benefits and social impact, Fujifilm’s ultra-short throw projector “FP-Z5000” and image-stabilized binoculars “TS-X 1440" have won Gold Award, and mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T30” and skincare series “Astalift” have been chosen as finalists^*4.

In the development of a variety of products and services, Fujifilm pursues functionality and performance, while also striving to achieve design that takes maximum advantage of functional excellence. Winning Grand Award of Good Design Award last year that has a history of over 50 years in Japan, and achieving the highest honor in all three prestigious design awards, Fujifilm has a growing reputation globally in the field of product design.

In addition to creating beautiful external designs, Fujifilm is working to create new product value by developing designs that realize simple and comfortable operability and portability.

Ultra-short throw projector “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z5000”

“FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z5000” is an innovative projector equipped with the world’s first “folded two-axial rotatable lens,” capable of projecting images in various directions without having to move the main unit. It can throw powerful images in directions that other projectors cannot handle, broadening the potential of spatial design of exhibitions, digital signage, art galleries and museums. It adopts compact design that allows the lens and the main projector unit to fold into a box shape. It has achieved design sophistication with its stylish appearance.

Image-stabilized binoculars “FUJINON TECHNO-STABI TS-X 1440”

“FUJINON TECHNO-STABI TS-X 1440” is 14x-magnification binoculars equipped with image stabilization that offers the world's best^*5 vibration correction of ±6°. The product’s excellent optical performance makes it ideal for nature and wildlife observation from a boat or a car. It has a stylish appearance with beautiful rounded edges. The entire body is coated with slip resistant rubber so that the users can enjoy a firm grip with both hands.

Mirrorless digital camera “FUJIFILM X-T30”

“FUJIFILM X-T30” is a mirrorless digital camera that boasts ultimate image quality, made possible with the 26.1MP X-Trans™ CMOS 4 sensor^*6 and the fast X-Processor 4 image processing engine. It offers highly accurate AF performance across the entire frame as well as fast and silent continuous shooting capability. The camera inherits the “central viewfinder style,” the X-T Series’ signature design, achieving the stylish appearance. The use of a new grip design that enhances stable grip when holding the camera provides excellent operability.

Skincare series “Astalift”

“Astalift” is a series of skincare products. They contain beauty ingredients “Nano Astaxanthin”^*7 and “Nano Lycopene”^*8, formulated into nano-sized particles with Fujifilm’s proprietary technology to boost^*9 skin permeability^*10, thereby bringing firmness and hydration to the skin. Astalift’s jelly-type beauty essence and two types of cream adopt a container design that allows a refill container to be removed in a single step with ease. Pump-type items such as lotions use a unique “smart refill” container whose cartridge can be replaced easily and hygienically. Fujifilm has made dedicated efforts to achieve advanced usability while also contributing to reduce the amount of plastic used in containers and mitigate CO₂ emissions.
