Fujifilm launches new app for “instax mini Link”

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) is pleased to announce that the dedicated smartphone app^*1, “instax mini Link for Nintendo Switch”, which can print from all games of “Nintendo Switch” of Nintendo Co., Ltd. with the smartphone printer “instax mini Link”, will be released on April 30, 2021. This will create a new printing experience that will enable you to print various game worlds and characters.

There are many scenes in games that make great screenshots such as the memorial moments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the memory of clearing a stage in Super Mario, and the picture-perfect encounters with Pokémon in New Pokémon Snap^*2, which will be released on April 30, 2021. 

By making these images and videos recorded on the Nintendo Switch into an instax print with the Link through the dedicated smartphone app, filing them as a collection, or decorating^*3 them in your room, the game world and characters can be enjoyed through photo prints.

The Link is a smartphone printer that can print images in the smartphone to high-quality instax prints via Bluetooth^*4 from the dedicated smartphone app. Images can be edited and combined with various frames and the best shots from videos can be cut out and printed on the dedicated smartphone app. Since its launch in October 2019, it has been well received by consumers as a tool that is small and lightweight, weighing about 200g in the palm of your hand, has excellent portability, and allows you to have a good time anywhere without missing an opportunity.

In addition to the current way of enjoying the Link, the new dedicated smartphone app “instax mini Link for Nintendo Switch” enables you to print game screenshots (including still images and videos) on the Nintendo Switch with the Link. When you select an image saved on Nintendo Switch, the QR code will be displayed on the screen of Nintendo Switch, and when you read it with the dedicated smartphone app, the image will be transferred to your smartphone and displayed on the app. The image can be printed as it is or cropped.

The screen design of the dedicated smartphone app can be selected from three popular games, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Mario and New Pokémon Snap, and it enables you to enjoy the app features while experiencing the game world. In addition, “Frame Print”, which is one of the popular functions of the Link and allows you to print photos with various designs, has also added based on these three newly added games. It enables you to enjoy printing with the design frame of your favorite game. The dedicated smartphone app can be downloaded free of charge^*5.

 Furthermore, a new color “Ash White (Red&Blue)” is added to the lineup of the Link along with the release of the dedicated smartphone app. While using Ash White as the base color, red is applied to the print output section and blue is applied around the power button on the front of the body.

 The new color “Ash White (Red&Blue)” will be released as a single printer, and a special bundle kit with a specially designed silicone case featuring the popular Pokémon Pikachu is also available, celebrating the release of New Pokémon Snap on April 30, 2021. The special bundle kit will be released in a limited quantity.
