Please read this update after refreshing this page.

  • In case of Windows (Internet Explorer / FireFox / Google Chrome), hold down the “Control” key and “F5” key.
  • In case of Mac (Safari / Google Chrome), hold down the “Command” key and “R” key.
  • In case of Mac (FireFox), hold down the “Command”, “Shift” and “R” keys at same time.

The firmware upgrade is not required if its version is latest.

  • Refer to “2) Firmware version checking procedure” in the “Detail of firmware update steps” below to check the firmware version.

Please use your camera and lens with the latest version of firmware.

  • If you don’t use them with the latest version, you may not enjoy their full performance. Check the latest firmware version from the link below.

Ver.2.03

Revised specification from Ver.2.02 to Ver.2.03

The firmware bug has been fixed, which caused that the following phenomena occurred rarely in combination with X-mount lenses from other manufacturers.

・When shooting with “High-speed Burst” function at “AF-C” setting, it becomes out-of-focus using TAMRON:17-70mm F/2.8 Di Ⅲ-A VC RXD (Model B070) with the above models.
・When zooming from the T end to the W end, the “hunting” occurs in the pre-view screen, which affects movies as well as still photos recorded in this condition using TAMRON:18-300mm F/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD (Model B061) with the above models.

Other minor bugs have been fixed.

Ver.2.02

The firmware update Ver.2.02 from Ver.2.01 incorporates the following issue:

Even under busy Wi-Fi environment, the connectivity between the application for a smartphone (FUJIFILM Camera Remote) and a camera is improved.

Ver.2.01

The firmware update Ver.2.01 from Ver.2.00 incorporates the following issues:

When using an external flash, an image can be recorded with a selected color temperature.

The phenomenon is fixed that a display of the focused AF area is shifted when enlarging a recorded image by the touch zoom function.

The phenomenon is fixed that images are not recorded in the selected step of AE bracketing under a specific shooting condition.

NEW “Bright Mode” added

The customer can select the new “Bright Mode” which allows shooting more brightly and vividly when selecting the “Advanced SR Auto” mode on the Mode Dial. The “Bright Mode” can be turned ON/OFF easily with a single tap on the LCD touch-screen.

5 step adjustment available for “Portrait Enhancer” Mode

The “Portrait Enhancer” mode can now be adjusted in 5 levels. Through this update, customers can more freely customize the skin tone by using the “Portrait Enhancer” mode.

NEW “Night+” added

Customers can now shoot better pictures in night scene by using the “Night+”. The “Night+” mode would automatically adjust not only the ISO but also the brightness and vividness of the picture. This mode would be effective when shooting Night Portraiture as well.

The firmware update Ver.1.20 from Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issues:

Performance and stability of the main subject recognition function are improved.

Improvement of the exposure compensation dial response.

Ver.1.10

The firmware update Ver.1.10 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

Advanced Filters “Rich & Fine” and “Monochrome [NIR]”

“Rich & Fine” filter is recommended for food and other tabletop photography. It simulates brighter and more vivid colors at the center of the image and adds slight shadow at the four corners to emphasize the subject. “Monochrome [NIR]” simulates Monochrome effect as taken by near-infrared cameras. These modes will allow photographers to add additional artistic flair or film-like color tones to their photos.

SQUARE MODE

The “SQUARE MODE” allows users to switch to 1:1 format with a single flick on the touchscreen. The “SQUARE MODE” enhances compatibility with social media networks where 1:1 format has become the standard image format for posting photos.

Initial setting of ISO is changed to “AUTO” when switching to P, S, A, M, Adv modes.

Improvement of AF accuracy when pressing the shutter button halfway in AF-C mode.

The phenomenon is fixed that the AF frame in the navigation window in the EVF can shift from the set position when enlarging the focus position display.

The phenomenon is fixed that the highlight warning doesn’t appear in the Info display.

Fix of slight defects.

Firmware Update Steps

  1. Check the firmware version.
  2. Prepare a formatted memory card.
  3. Download the firmware and copy it to the card.
  4. Put the memory card with the firmware in the camera and update it.

Precaution

If firmware updating fails, the camera may no longer operate correctly in some cases. Carefully read the notes provided here*Always use the fully-charged battery when updating the firmware as a basic manner. Never turn the camera off or attempt to use any of the camera controls while the firmware is being overwritten.

  • You can update the firmware from old version directly to the latest one.
  • Firmware updating requires approximately 5 minutes.(maximum)
  • Once the firmware has been updated, some data of the previous version cannot be restored.
  • Please check here if you encounter any problems.

Caution

*Make sure there isn’t any file with the same name in the destination of the firmware to save. If there is a file with the same name, the browser may automatically alter the name of the firmware like the name and (1). A camera will not recognize the firmware correctly with an altered name like that.
