RATINGEN GERMANY, February 3, 2025 – FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe is pleased to announce a new upgrade for its EN-840T therapeutic double balloon enteroscope, enabling one-switch control of the PB-30 balloon control unit from the endoscope itself during double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) procedures. Available now in Europe.
Compatible with Fujifilm’s powerful ELUXEO® 8000 system, this upgrade enhances a key innovation released under the ‘WELCOME, FUTURE’ initiative.

USE THE ENDOSCOPE TO OPERATE THE BALLOON CONTROL UNIT
FUJIFILM’s new EN-840T DBE endoscope upgrade now makes it possible for endoscopists to operate the PB-30 balloon control unit using the DBE endoscope itself (connected to the ELUXEO 8000 processor), whilst performing double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) procedures.
DIRECT CONTROL OF BALLOON PRESSURE
Using the switch on the EN-840T endoscope, it is now possible to inflate and deflate the balloon on the endoscope and overtube, whilst controlling balloon pressure. It is also possible to stop the control unit error buzzer using the endoscope.
This was previously controlled independently via the PB-30 control unit. However, the new upgrade allows operation directly from the endoscope.
VIEW BALLOON STATUS ON ENDOSCOPE SCREEN
Additionally, the EN-840T endoscope will display the status of the balloon and other connected devices on the endoscope screen, providing an opportunity for fewer interruptions from balloon control during examinations.
