MISSISSAUGA, Ont., May 20, 2026 — FUJIFILM Corporation today announces the launch of its “QuickSnap+” smartphone app in Canada. The app enables users to order QuickSnap™ one-time use camera film development and receive developed photos as digital image data on their smartphones. In addition, the app allows users to organize image data and create slideshow videos, providing new ways to preserve and revisit their memories.
First introduced in 1986, and celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, QuickSnap™ was the world’s first one-time use camera, developed with the concept of enabling anyone to take photos easily anytime and anywhere. To date, more than 1.7 billion units have been sold worldwide.
“One of the most unique characteristics of QuickSnap™ is the anticipation of not knowing how photos will turn out until development,” said Tevfik Djamgouz, Vice President, Printing Solutions, FUJIFILM Canada, Inc. “This anticipation, combined with the distinctive look of the analog image, continues to resonate with a wide range of users, particularly among younger generations. In addition, receiving developed photos as digital image data as well in printed form allows users to share images with family and friends or post them on social media – truly the best of both worlds.”
Convenient ordering of QuickSnap™ film development
With the QuickSnap+ App, users can place QuickSnap™ film development orders directly through the app[1], simply send in their QuickSnap™ one-time use camera via a post office within Canada[2], and receive developed photos as digital image data delivered conveniently in the app. In addition, photo prints of the developed images are delivered to the address registered at the time of order[3]. Within the app, users can organize image data by QuickSnap™ or Colour Negative film roll, making it easy to look back on their memories. After the QuickSnap™ is sent from the post office, developed photos are delivered as digital image data through the app in approximately 7 to 14 business days[4]. Photo prints of the developed images are also delivered to the address registered at the time of order.
“My film” feature allows users to revisit memories by QuickSnap™ or film roll
QuickSnap+ App includes the “My film” feature, which allows users to organize received image data by QuickSnap™ or Colour Negative film roll and easily revisit their memories. Users can add names and comments to each film and freely select the colour of the film icon, providing a personalized way to organize and view images.
“Photo movies” – Users can create slideshow videos from favorite images
- The “Photo movies” feature allows users to easily create slideshow videos by simply selecting their favorite images from the received image data and choosing from available video templates. Four template designs are available, each designed to highlight the distinctive photographic quality unique to film.
- Created videos can be shared by posting them on social media or sending them to family and friends, providing additional ways to share memories from the moment of capture.
