The Fujifilm Holdings CSR plan, Sustainable Value Plan 2030, specifies long-term targets that the overall Fujifilm Group should strive to contribute the development of a sustainable society. Establishing fiscal 2030 as its target year, this plan specifies 15 priority issues in the six fields of Environment, Health, Daily Life, Work Style, Supply Chain, and Governance.
At FUJIFILM Business Innovation, our primary focus is Work Style. We are committed to contribute to the building of a sustainable society through the business innovations of our customers.
1. Energy and Resource - efficient products
Everyone in the modern world is now vocal about their commitment to environment. Talks about going green are everywhere, but what about when it comes to putting those words to practice. Sounds hard, doesn’t it?
At FUJIFILM Business Innovation, we actively place great emphasis on how our products contribute to a better society, and in turn a better world.
Take our new ApeosPort range* for example. Every model in the new range comes with features designed to not only make work done efficiently but have a reduced impact on the environment as well. Reducing the burden to environment while printing.
The ECO-MODE settings on our printers help businesses save both paper and toner by means of smart, pre-configurable settings that deliver outstanding output, but with a reduced load on the environment. Every model in the new range supports duplex printing which helps save time and resources. Having built-in double-sided printing is convenient and it reduces paper usage.
The new models meet the TEC (Typical Energy Consumption) requirements for imaging equipment of the prevailing version of Energy Star at the time of launch, thus assuring you that the devices meet your expectation for energy efficiency. The device automatically enters a low power mode when not in use, thus bringing down energy consumption and costs at your workplace.
2. Reduce and Recycle: Diverting waste from landfill
The icing on the top however is the way we deal with empty toner cartridges. As per findings of a research study1, globally about 1 million printer cartridges are disposed every single day, without any recycling process involved. Look at it from an annual perspective, and you have a whopping 365 million cartridges not going through environmentally sound management. What a load of rubbish, isn’t it?
Keeping our commitment to sustainability in mind, we’ve introduced an empty toner return program where we collect and recycle materials to close the loop and minimize impact to the environment. This is an effort to reduce the environmental impact of our used products.
3. Together - Towards a sustainable future
Our commitment to sustainability doesn’t however end with our products. Our research and development teams are constantly innovating to find the best methods and solutions to implement sustainable practices across the entire product life cycle and the supply chain.
All said and done, more the hands-on deck in this endeavor, the better. We’d like you to join us on this journey towards sustainability by collaborating with us in identifying and adopting the most appropriate setup and advising others to do so too. Because, we can if you can!
