RATINGEN GERMANY, January 9, 2026 – FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe is excited to announce the European launch of the EB-710US balloonless ultrasonic bronchoscope as the latest addition to the PulmoSolutions portfolio.
Equipped with a compact, high-performance ultrasonic transducer and CMOS sensor, the EB-710US is designed to support pulmonologists with enhanced ultrasound imaging and endoscopic observation for lung cancer detection.
INCREASING VISIBILITY FOR LUNG CANCER DIAGNOSIS
“Europe accounts for just 10% of the world’s population but over 21.6% of global lung cancer cases” (Lung Cancer Europe, 2025)1
Guided by tissue samples obtained during EBUS-TBNA* procedures, pulmonology professionals may require information about the characteristics of a tumour to determine the most appropriate prognosis for lung cancer treatment. This information is collected at the diagnosis stage.
Where it may be more challenging for traditional ultrasound bronchoscopes to access the lymph nodes and obtain tissue samples for diagnosis (due to a larger outer diameter compared to non-ultrasound bronchoscopes), Fujifilm’s new EB-710US flexible ultrasound bronchoscope has been engineered to enhance both visibility and accessibility during procedures to provide better information for the diagnosis of lung cancer.
SIMPLIFIED BALLOONLESS DESIGN FOR ENHANCED WORKFLOW
Featuring a balloonless structure, the EB-710US ultrasound bronchoscope provides an opportunity to simplify the pre-procedure preparation process by eliminating the need for traditional balloon-fitting prior to an endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) procedure. With less preparation needed before a procedure, Fujifilm’s new ultrasound bronchoscope is expected to improve workflow efficiency for pulmonology professionals.
ENGINEERED TO IMPROVE LYMPH NODE ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility to the lymph nodes allows the collection of tissue samples required for lung cancer diagnosis and prognosis. The compact design of the EB-710US supports accessibility with a 2.2mm forceps channel, 6.4mm distal end and a maximum upward bending angle of 180 degrees along with a downward bending angle of 90 degrees. By enabling the scope to maintain a wider curvature when a needle is inserted, the EB-710US is designed to improve lymph node accessibility during procedures, compared to the previous model2.
SUPPORTING PULMONOLOGISTS WITH CLEARER ULTRASOUND IMAGES
Featuring BLI® and LCI® special light observation modes, Fujifilm’s new ultrasound bronchoscope provides enhanced visibility during EBUS procedures. With a compact high-performance ultrasonic transducer, the EB-710US supports pulmonologists with the ability to see clearer ultrasound images during procedures due to an enhanced image resolution and image depth.
USER-FRIENDLY DESIGN FOR ENHANCED OPERABILITY
Designed with clinician usability in mind, the EB-710US ultrasound bronchoscope includes a redesigned grip section for improved comfort and handling. Additionally, a simple, one-step connector is included for easy attachment and detachment from a light-source unit. It is also compatible with STERRAD®3 sterilisation.
