TOKYO, October 23, 2023 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President & CEO, Representative Director: Teiichi Goto) has announced its partnership with World Cancer Day 2024, a global initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)*1.
Every year on February 4, World Cancer Day brings together people around the world to unite in the fight against cancer. With almost one-third of all cancer-related deaths deemed preventable*2, widespread screening, alongside early detection and access to treatment, can play a pivotal role in the fight against cancer. However, access to essential healthcare services remains a significant challenge, with nearly half of the world's population unable to obtain the care they require*3.
Fujifilm is addressing these pressing issues through various initiatives, including the development of products and services that contribute to the improvement of global health, the provision of technical diagnosis training in mammography and endoscopy, and the promotion of effective healthcare practices through "NURA" health screening center’s focusing on cancer screening4 in emerging countries. The company steadfastly continues these endeavours with the aim of making meaningful contributions to a global society where everyone has access to the healthcare they need.
