Fujifilm Corporation History in Singapore

Fujifilm has grown into a global corporation serving consumer and business markets.

1957 Tithes Dental represented Fujifilm in Camera and B/W Films.
1967 Borneo Company took over the distributorship of amateur products from Tithes Dental.
1969 EEL (Electronic Equipment Limited, Equatron Pte Ltd) represented Fuji in Industrial products parallely to Borneo.
1977 Equatron took over the distributorship of color film and amateur products.
1980 SINTEC (Singapore Technical Communication Centre) was formed in 1980 to provide technical service, support and training to Asia Pacific countries
1983 Fuji Photo Film (Singapore) Pte Ltd was incorporated on 7 November 1983 and took back the agency for amateur and magnetic products from Equatron. Office was located at 989 Bukit Timah Road.
1984 Fujicolor Services was transferred to Fuji from Equatron on 26 November 1984.
1985 Fuji Singapore took back the distributorship of graphic arts products from Equatron in September.
1987 Fuji Singapore moved to United Square #32-00 on 5 October 1987.
1989 Fuji Singapore relocated to United Square #31-00 on 20 November 1989. Fuji Thailand was incorporated on 1 May 1989. Fuji Singapore owns 16% of Fuji Thailand. Fuji Hunt Photographic Chemicals Pte Ltd was incorporated on 12 April 1989.
1990 Fuji Singapore expanded the regional responsibilities in South East Asia to include FTAI’s territory. Fuji Malaysia was incorporated on 5 October 1990
1992 Purchased a freehold land of 30,182 sq.ft. (2,807 sq. m.) on 8 June 1992.
1993 Fuji Photo Film Holdings (Singapore) Pte Ltd was incorporated on 17 March 1993. Fuji Holdings own 100% of Fuji Singapore and Fuji Hunt.
1994 Permit to set-up a representative office in Vietnam was received on 20 October 1994.
1995 Topping-Up Ceremony of FSIN Building on 23 March 1995. Permit to set-up a liaison office in India was received on 9 November 1995.
1996 Fuji Singapore moved to own building, Fujifilm Building, on 8 January 1996. Official Opening on 15 March 1996.
1999 Fuji Singapore launched their 1st in-house newsletter, The Green Channel, in May 1999. 1st Corporate Slogan, Back to Growth Mode, was conceptualized.
2000 1st SQ Day on 15 July 2000. Fuji Singapore 2nd Corporate Slogan was Quality Growth Through Teamwork.
2001 Fuji Singapore Authorised Capital and Paid-Up Capital increased to $16m and $15.7m respectively. Fuji Photo Film Holdings (S) Pte Ltd’s Authorised Capital and Paid-Up Capital increased to $35m and $33.779m respectively. Fuji Singapore 1st Trade Exhibition in Singapore on the theme “Power of Imaging” on 11 & 12 April. Fuji Photo Film Holdings (S) Pte Ltd changed its name to FUJIFILM Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. on 23 November 2001
2002 On 23 April 2002, Fuji Singapore won the National Infocomm Technology Award (print@fujicolor).
2003 Fuji Singapore 20th Anniversary Celebration.
2004 Fujicolor Services (FCS) ceased operations on 17 May 2004 and closed on 31 May 2004. FRSS closed Vietnam Representative Office on 30 June 2004.
2005 On 1 April 2005, Fuji Singapore merged two divisions, the Professional and Consumer Division and the Photofinishing Division into one division, Consumer Photo & Imaging Division.
2006 Change of Company’s Name on 2 October 2006:- FUJIFILM (Singapore) Pte Ltd and FUJIFILM Hunt Chemicals Singapore Pte Ltd. A new division, Digital Camera Division, was created on 2 October 2006 in FSIN.
2007 FSIN Export Division transferred to FRSS on 1 May 2007.
2008 S & M Equipment Techno Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Singapore Branch incorporated on 1 April 2008. FSIN 25th Anniversary – Group Family Photo taken. FSIN awarded the Resorts World Tender as the Official & Exclusive Photo Imaging Services’ Provider.
2009 FSIN merged Consumer Photo Imaging and Digital Divisions into one Division, named Consumer Division.
2010 FRSS took over distributorship of Fujinon Endoscopy Products from Fujinon Singapore Pte Ltd on 1 January 2010. Fujinon Singapore Pte Ltd, Optical Device Business, transferred to FRSS on 1 July 2010.
