Fujifilm Healthcare showcases Community Diagnostics Vehicle at Scottish Parliament highlighting new technologies in AI and community-based care.

The content on this page is intended to healthcare professionals and equivalents.

Fujifilm Healthcare UK proudly presented its innovative Community Diagnostics Vehicle (CDV) at the Scottish Parliament, demonstrating its commitment to enhancing local healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes. The event was attended by Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) and members of the Society of Radiographers (SoR), highlighting the collaborative efforts to address healthcare inequalities in Scotland, alongside our partners, Sovereign Talents.

The CDV is a state-of-the-art mobile diagnostic solution designed to bring hospital-grade diagnostics closer to patients in their communities. It integrates advanced technologies, including the FDR Xair portable X-ray system and the DRI-CHEM NX600 blood analyser, to provide efficient, high-quality diagnostic services on-site, reducing the need for hospital visits and easing the burden on emergency departments.

During the event, attendees witnessed firsthand how the Community Diagnostics Vehicle improves patient access to vital diagnostic services and supports the NHS's long-term shift toward community-based care. The vehicle has already proven effective in pilot studies, demonstrating a significant reduction in unnecessary hospital admissions and providing timely care for patients in underserved areas.

Allan Elborn, Managing Director, Fujifilm Healthcare UK, shared:

"Bringing the Community Diagnostics Vehicle to the Scottish Parliament underscores our dedication to improving healthcare accessibility across Scotland. We believe that by providing diagnostic services directly in communities, we can greatly enhance patient outcomes and reduce pressure on hospitals."

Brian Whittle, Member of the Scottish Parliament, further commented:

"Welcoming Fujifilm Healthcare to Holyrood during the cross-party AI in Radiography event was a great chance to see the future of diagnostics first-hand. It’s clear our NHS needs to work smarter, and we are currently under-utilising the technology available to us. By investing in AI and digital tools, we can catch illnesses earlier and get patients through the system faster. We need to let technology do the heavy lifting so our healthcare professionals can spend more time with patients and less time on paperwork."

The engagement at the Scottish Parliament reflects a collective commitment to ensuring that all communities benefit from modern healthcare solutions. Fujifilm Healthcare invites collaboration with local stakeholders and professional organisations, including the Society of Radiographers, to further advance the impact of the CDV throughout Scotland. We would like to thank the MSP's and our VIP guests who took the time to come and see the Community Diagnostics Vehicle, and for their positive feedback.
