December 1, 2025 – FUJIFILM Healthcare UK Limited (HCUK) has today announced the acquisition of Aquilant Endoscopy Limited's (AEL) British endoscopy business. This strategic move sees all Fujifilm capital equipment, Fujifilm's proprietary endotherapeutic and accessory devices, and therapeutic endoscopy portfolio offered by FUJIFILM medwork GmbH successfully transferred to HCUK.
The acquisition aligns with Fujifilm's strategy to offer a total healthcare solution, building on its existing portfolio of diagnostic imaging technologies across MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, in-vitro diagnostics, mammography – and now endoscopy to reinforce the company’s presence.
Allan Elborn, Managing Director of FUJIFILM Healthcare UK, said:
"This acquisition marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to the UK healthcare sector, and strengthens our promise to be ‘proudly by your side’ – whether that's supporting healthcare professionals using our endoscopy solutions, or enhancing the experience of the patients who are cared for by them. By integrating AEL's specialist expertise with our existing operations, we have reinforced our ability to support NHS and private healthcare providers across the UK with a comprehensive, total healthcare solutions portfolio."
Bringing together Fujifilm's cutting-edge imaging technologies with AEL's specialist endoscopy expertise, this acquisition results in a team of skilled personnel across service, sales and technical functions joining HCUK to continue provision of best-in-class maintenance, repair and support service to endoscopy customers – both across the NHS and private providers.
Stephen Arundel, CEO of Healthcare21 UK, added:
"We are pleased to note a smooth transition of business, enabling FUJIFILM Healthcare UK to build upon the strong foundation established by the AEL endoscopy team over the past three decades. During the handover process, priority has been placed on continuity of service for customers while supporting new opportunities to innovate under Fujifilm's leadership, in addition to providing care and support for the AEL team during the process to ensure that they have all felt involved, updated and supported throughout. Having achieved these goals, we are satisfied to see this transition successfully completed today."
Elborn adds:
“We would like to thank the Healthcare21 and AEL leadership team for their support, input and the clear care for the AEL team during this process. It has truly been a joint effort and partnership in bringing this project to completion.
"On behalf of FUJIFILM Healthcare UK, we are delighted to welcome this talented team into our business and look forward to working together towards our shared goal of improving patient experience and outcomes through our market-leading diagnostic imaging technologies.”
